For anything more than few £ I stick it in an amazon wish list and price watch till it gets cheap enough.
(not always bought on amazon but a handy place to do lists)
I do get sucked into sales a bit.
Bought 4 items for the BBQ Friday in the Homebase sale total £10.50
https://www.homebase.co.uk/garden-outdoor/barbecues-outdoor-heating/view-all.list
Some more wood chips(got loads already), pair of long tongs(needed), a stainless smoker box(my other ones are rusting away).
and who cant resist a big knife for £3

@getmore4less thanks mate. I am counting the weeks too. 15 weeks def seems a bit of a milestone.
Interesting re ship taking social distancing seriously, parts of NG you hope social distancing will go on forevermore but don’t think some of them even realise it existed in the first place lol. Was it the round UK cruise you went on or one in Europe?
Right approach to losing the extra weight mate. Best to sort it before it gets out of hand 100%.
Funny you should mention finding more people, that’s a bit of a task in itself at the moment. Getting there but I am guilty of running myself into the ground again too. Not really much good for me but equally annoyed I just can’t seem to put the sort of time I used to into it without making myself quite ill idk what’s wrong with me come 6.30-7.00pm I’m completely whacked.
I love that idea of the block mate, it’s a good one if you could get the right block / plot in the right place would be amazing. Always just an idea in your head or did you actively look?
@Willowtree222 thank you. Was a great weekend. 4 months, yeah that’s very true actually. Sounds serious now haha.
@Sun_Addict thank you, I think you’re right mate tbf. She made me laugh on the Saturday when we got there; she’d hid all our stuff for the weekend in a picnic hamper.
@warby68 thank you. Iswyacf idk what they like really apart from walking in the Peak District, time with family / kids / grandkids and garden / bbq.
I am serious about putting her on the pocket money tbh just don’t know how. I put hair / beauty and rest for her to spend 100% I know she’ll buy something stupid and be sad the next day. Latest thing is another set of wheels for MG she !!!!!! loves that car and all the bits you can buy for them lol. Anyway point is will be my luck she’ll have worked out how much for various appts, bit for fun etc and spend the !!!!!! lot on the wheels and I’ll end up having to give her more money for the beauty appts etc.
@ladyholly thank you as for favourite son-in-law haha I don’t think so lol but they are pleased I’m there for family a bit more tbf.
Like the 1day delay not sure how that’s going to work in practice though haha.1 -
@enthusiasticsaver You have a point tbf all I’ve ever really worked towards are materials goals idk I struggle with anything else.
Re the happiness cals my in-laws are very into them and my son does them with school. It’s ‘action for happiness’. I bet your grandkids do them at school. In-laws and son talk about it quite a bit on the phone and my parents like hearing about what he’s been doing for it too.
I am concerned about what she’s spending money on. Never used to care but I do now. Giving her the pocket money just seems a bit of a back step of me not really being aware what she’s spending but I do see she will only spend as much as I’m willing to lose effectively haha. Apple event tomorrow lol so it’s on my mind not gonna lie and I sympathise with the geek fest haha fml she always makes me laugh when she’s trawling through the !!!!!! specs of these machines. Knows more about Apple than the guys in the shop ha, told her once she’d be in her !!!!!! element working in there lol.
Idk re world too big. Taken my wife to plenty of places and I’ve never got much out of it. I’m dreading being away for a fortnight next month, edging closer every !!!!!! day I hope BoJo turns up on TV to tell us no Greece trips lol. Bad really, my mum and dad are looking forward to us going so I can’t let them down but everyday want to cancel or just send wife and son so my parents would still get the benefit.
@foxgloves thanks, I need to do something about it 100%. I don’t think she’ll like it much as your husband does though.
@Kakiste I do that too tbf, how I’ve wound up with the wish lists check them every now and again for deals but not really fussed. Inventory of the clothes / shoes etc was 100 a game changer for me.

You need a holiday as much as anyone else in the family. You can not work yourself into the ground forever.
You only got away with it before because you were fuelled by drugs.
Now you are getting clean you must realise that you can not physically do the same amount of work you have in the past. That is not a sign of weakness, it is your body letting you know it is tired. It is perfectly normal to feel tired after a day at work.

@getmore4less 100% hear you re the wish lists. Probably last thing you thought you’d hear me saying. Quite like looking through the deals but have been recently looking through and just thinking it’ll be bad soon enough. Wife not got to that stage she buys into the whole ‘last chance’ etc. Told her if it’s her last chance on the green one, the blue one will be tomorrow’s last chance or whatever lol.
Looks like you’ve done well with the bbq stuff mate and ham looks on point, what’s the glaze? You’ve just made me watch how to smoke a ham on bbq fml. Not opening that link lol the last time you sent me a bbq related link I sent my Mrs out to buy one. Not sure what it is with some of you on here sure you and @warby68 get some kind of kick out of suggesting !!!!!! for me to buy haha. Usually need a bit of persuading these days though. No can’t believe I’m saying that either haha.

That sounds a lovely weekend - a great though from your wife and inlaws!I was thinking this weekend about aims and enjoyment changing through life - and Emma Raducanu who has achieved one of her dreams at 18 in a spectacular way. What next after that high?On non-financial aims and achievements you have your son to help grow into a great adult, the people you mentor or train in business and how much you have improved their careers. You have the people you are a good landlord to - I see that as a major positive of your portfolio. Your employees you provide good jobs for - for that reason alone a bigger business does more good, as well as its profitability. All reasons for people to look up to you.For the architecture you like - this may not be a valid suggestion but is there any likelihood of finding ways to carefully incorporate it into your working life? Maybe working as part of a team on examples other than houses, that need regeneration? But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

@RelievedSheff You remind me of my FIL he’s always saying that. Fwiw I think you’re right tbh always tell my staff need to have a good work ethic but make sure they get sufficient downtime to be on top form. Don’t want staff with poor productivity and lost hours / days / weeks to burnout. Hypocrite I know before you say it ha.
@theoretica thank you. Raducanu is interesting I think she’s an absolute inspiration, saw a headline she’s puts her success down to very hard to please parents apparently. My son has no chance then haha my wife is impressed no matter what milestone he reaches tbh I’m probably a bit too lenient too. On your question, she’ll have lots of other tournaments Wimbledon got to be the big one but ultimately it is more of the same iyswim. Good thinking point there actually, thanks.
Putting my son growing up into a great adult in my hands that’s a !!!!!! scary thought mate. Lot of the reason I kept my distance for a long time. Wanted the best for him not me. Like to think I’m good to my staff and tenants, more I do for them, more they do for my business and in turn me just a no brainier that tbh but one that some people do miss.
Interesting thought re architecture for me always been about owning things. My dad always said I’d own the world if I could all on 75ltv lol. Not far off tbf ha. It isn’t really my field of practice and don’t really have anyone in the team with that kind of knowledge either and not planning to head in that direction as part of wider growth strategy but thank you. Tbf something came up right time/ place etc I’d probably regret not giving it a shot. Probably regret doing it too haha but worse to regret what you haven’t done I think.2 -

Think it's a slab of brisket in the pic.
Only took knife out of the packing today to get a clean.

Haha fml. Shouldn’t really be up at this time but got taken in with audiobook that was meant to make me sleep big !!!!!! fail there and on second look another one it’s def not a ham lol and think you’re right about the brisket. My bbq skills have extended as far as a burger, a sausage and a couple of chicken breasts tbf. Anyway it’s a good !!!!!! job I don’t cook for a living fml haha. Have to say I was 100% impressed by ‘your’ hedge though. Really am getting too !!!!!! old noticing hedges. Whole photo seems a bit over enhanced now I’m looking at it again idk.0
