@RelievedSheff yeah you telling me ha fml waiting on !!!!!! tenterhooks mate. Meant to be going home 1pm for lunch suppose I’ll find out then if she’s not messaged me about it. Absolutely !!!!!! ridiculous people on here encouraging me to spend money I don’t fail to see the !!!!!! irony @getmore4less lol. Tbf I was looking to buy one anyway but will see what she turns up with now haha.

She dealt think same one as you’ve sent @getmore4less. Tbh I liked that portable Smokey joe one could sit on a table. Anyway £60 spent so not a fortune for once. Latest class message from my Mrs though - do we need charcoal? Thought would be ok to use coal for fire on it fml. 

@RelievedSheff for once I think yours is going to spend more than mine. 😆

Need to wrap up at the office promised them lunch at a cafe. Life would def be easier single lol.

Day 78 through. Had a nice afternoon. Eaten like pigs though or should say I have idk why I keep doing it to myself ha still have 2kg to go and tbh I'm not even sure I'm going to be able to get rid of it - enjoying food far too much. Clothes still fit and my Mrs hasn't !!!!!! off yet ha. 

Fired the bbq up - she spent £100 in total on the bbq and some accessories. Bought some very nice steaks and sausages this afternoon, wife did her homemade burgers and chicken shish. Massive salad on the side really can't eat like this often. Tonight was meant to be AF but I've had 2 G&Ts, wife had a third. She can but I need to keep it in check have to be conscious of it or definitely a small potential to stop being enjoyable and start becoming routine. I used to have a drink almost every evening and tell people I wasn't a 'massive drinker' but I did used to drink fairly heavily by medical standards and plenty of times I've started lunchtime and carried on into some all nighter almost always accompanied by the other stuff. I know drinking has the potential to lead on to the next level and the fact I've chosen to not entirely give up drinking means I need to be responsible and if it stops being responsible I need to stop it altogether. Don't be a !!!!!! basically lol.

It's big enough to have my in-laws around @getmore4less my FIL couldn't !!!!!! resist turning up for a burger after he'd had his own dinner, he's !!!!!! mad for the bbqs loves them. At least I'm not that much of a pig. Son wanted to show it to my mum and dad too lol. He's so !!!!!! excited to go to Greece talks about it far too much. I don't think he's prepared for the accommodation though - parents live in a proper Greek / basic place and my son won't have remembered the last time he went says he can but he won't. Wife always says it's like camping really lol she's not that far off. Tbf I do like 'real' Greece but 2 weeks is going to be too long. Sister still turning up 2nd week fml she was meant to be cancelling but parents played the guilt trip want whole family together. 

@stymied I spoke to my FIL did apologise, told him I lost the plot a bit yesterday running away really. He's looking out for my wife and grandson admire that him really. Wife lucky to have her parents makes me think I want my son to turn to us when he's older and needs something, like to think we'll always be there for him. Can't choose your parents I know he deserves better than me but I need to step up. Been thinking on and off about the family thing all afternoon def prompted by things people have said on here and some things my in-laws said this evening - no manual for parenting/ not about being a !!!!!! pro at entertaining kids. My parents are def far from perfect but I still love them to pieces miss them terribly and speaking on FaceTime not the same. Couldn't help but think my mum and dad should have been here to see my son. He was so happy with the bbq I don't care the wife spent today and big thanks for another suggestion on here making him happy.

Garden is coming along very slowly. I wish I had or made more time for it tbh.

Alt80, I’ve only posted a few times on your thread but I’ve been prompted to comment again because of how you see yourself with your son,

I have 3 DD’s, all grown up, one with a family of her own now and the other two living their own lives, which is how it should be. I’ve made some terrible mistakes with the way I’ve been and treated them in the past. I don’t want to go into details but I’ve not always been the best mum I could have been. 

One thing I did get right though was the act of forgiveness, they may never forget the horrible things I’ve said and done but they have forgiven me because I’ve put in a huge amount of effort to try to put right the wrongs and I’ve finally learned to forgive myself. This is what you need to do, you can’t turn the clock back but you can control what you do going forward. Give your son your time, give him your energy and the attention he needs but also teach him to be humble, which is what I’ve had to learn.

You’re doing so well on conquering your addiction, your wife needs to give you credit for that and support you instead of giving you a hard time because ‘you could be earning more’ fml, she could be earning something herself to go towards her treats. 

I’m so proud of my DD’s and how they’ve turned out despite the issues we’ve had in the past. I’ve had to do some work on myself and I’ve learned to forgive myself for past mistakes, move on and create new relationships with my 3 beautiful girls, please do the same with your son.
