Won’t be spend free - food shop.
Being overly tired is definitely quite !!!!!! dangerous for me. Know turning to the stupid stuff does nothing but cause me more problems, have the barriers in place and not a chance my Mrs would let me buy it anyway. I do need to stop running on empty though, another night of poor sleep, had about 4hrs and it affects me quite badly especially when night after night; just need to get through the day and have an early night.
It might be the jolt that she needs to get her motivated to find a job.4 -
Think I really am getting too old for the nights out tbh; 3 of my staff went out last night, one didn't have too much to drink came in today and left just as the other two had taken it to the next level. All I could think fml I'm glad I wasn't there. Had a nice night in and whilst the sleep wasn't great it's definitely good to wake up without the !!!!!! world caving in ha. No money spent either so another winner. Keep all this in mind for my bank of reasons to stay away from it.
Managed to have a quick look into the avios - I am better off sticking with the amex although there seems to be varying opinions on what 1500pts is worth - although for £12/m looks like its worth joining the programme. Also will get 700pts for the res mortgage so 2200pts and a free upgrade/y. That's through the current acct and doesn't require spends just having a current acct - Barclays for anyone interested. People who switch you also get an additional 25000pts on joining so could be worth it. Now not sure whether to bin the amex or carry on using the amex just claim the current acct pts too. Do get something for nothing just using the amex card for day to day spends ultimately. Whilst I'm on my bargain hunting ha BC doing deals on family days out right now worth looking at if you have a BC but probably not worth signing up. Also if anyone knows the answer re reducing limits and impact on the banks I'd be interested to know - I think we need to limit our day to day access (both wife and I tbh) but don't want to at the expense of the banks becoming suspicious I can't pay my debts/ think I'm anticipating some kind of decrease in income or something that will affect future creditworthiness when not the case. Could just be paranoid idk?
@mark55man haha that's what my dad said to him lol. Knew you were a bit older than me but hadn't realised you had been around in '66 mate - it must have been amazing?
I also don't agree with the order they went out in either. Southgate had his reasons I sure but it didn't seem right to me. Subsequent news re racist abuse targeted at those three players though is an absolute disgrace, I really hoped we were done with that once and for all but it seems not.
@RelievedSheff who knows lol. I've said before I'd be pleased if she showed some commitment to something. Not even about the money I've come to terms with the fact I can't rely on her bringing an income but I too think it would do her well.2 -
Give her a small part time admin job or something similar and put her on the pay roll. It will give her something to do and bring in some extra spends. Win win.
It will also give her life some meaning and keep her off IG and away from her "mates"0 -

No idea about the card limits though, I know BC did reduce a lot of their customers card limits over the last year so a shame they didn't cut yours a bitMake £2023 in 2023 (#36) £3479.30/£2023

@RelievedSheff / @annabanana82 she receives pay as it’s tax efficient to do so and yes she cleans my office. Capable of admin work and has been a help in years gone. Idk probably is the solution to try to keep her busy.
@annabanana82 think that was customers who couldn’t pay mate; def time to worry when the lenders are reducing your limits lol.0 -

We had a limit on a dormant card we had not used for years reduced from £5k to £500 so we just closed the account.1 -
@RelievedSheff also noticed when got the new 0% deal the offer term was slightly reduced over what I’ve become accustomed to - seemed same with all lenders. Not sure if things changed recently now we’re coming out of the lockdowns. Seems lenders want to reduce their risk exposure certainly during Covid but imagine decent deals will start opening up again soon.0

Yeah, I've had a similar thing in the past with my JL card. Never once had a reduction in my credit limit back in the Spendy Years, but weirdly, once I had reformed my bad habits, paid off debts & was paying the card balance off in full every month, I received a letter from JL to say they were reducing my credit limit. It makes no difference now that I don't use credit. Have kept the card as I do like putting planned spending on there to build up points for vouchers. Nice little stash growing towards Christmas presents. I assumed it was probably company policy so that their exposure to consumer debt looks smaller on paper, I don't know.

Ha - I was barely more than a baby in 1966 plus I can't honestly say if I even saw the match, but my dad was football mad so I imagine he would have been in on it somewhere, not necessarily at homeI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine1
