Great to see you back home and happy with it all.
Your wife is really putting the effort in for you.
A few people will always judge but anyone that has some life mileage will give you credit for change. All you can do is live well and let others see you doing that so going to pick your son up straight away was great. I bet he was so excited to see you.
I really am very happy for you - valuing what you do have rather than what you don't is coming across very clearly right now as is the love for your family. Spot on @alt80
Business and finances can wait a while (and don't forget despite everything its you that put both things in the state where they can tick along - I hope the rehab has helped you value yourself a bit too)
Onwards and upwards now and pacing yourself sounds exactly right.

Had a little drive out and a cafe lunch in the countryside no other spending. Never going to be a saint with money both the wife and I like nice things too much but can’t let the stupid spends carry on. Had been having some negative thoughts re what I owe to Land Rover FS but tbh had a run out and couldn’t really care less. Happy to pay for a great car tbh doesn’t make me popular on here I know ha. Probably do something similar to today if we find the weather isn’t the disaster thats forecast this weekend.
@warby68 thank you. The wife and I consciously made a decision to make a proper go of it whilst I was away through the family therapy so I have actually seen her. People going through the programme without families made me appreciate mine a bit more I think tbh I’m !!!!!! lucky to have them.Business is going well tbh staff absolutely smashing it I’ve basically made myself !!!!!! redundant ha. Seriously looking forward to getting back to it. Not looking forward to seeing my additional debt in black and white mate though can tell you that ha wife scheduled it in for me to look at it this weekend and go out with the dog after not dwell too much only money can be sorted I know.4 -
hi alt
so glad to read your in a better place , as i've said before if you place your success in life on the material things you have then you will always be poor.
its the little taken for granted things that mean so very much2 -
Lovely to read your posts @alt80 and I am so glad you made the decision to give you and your family the best future possible by going to rehab - it must have been a huge decision for all of you. Also very pleased you haven't lost your sense of humour - some of your posts make me chuckle. Good luck with the pastry - I always buy ready made or go to the butchers for my pies! x

Thanks all, def hoping I’m at the start of some new ways of doing things. Think the spends through, stop looking for answers in substances, look after my family etc. 40 now feel it’s time to grow up really. Not going to be easy I know but got a lot worth fighting for know that much. Road to recovery haha.
@BalanceBy50 if you can’t have a laugh in life what’s the !!!!!! point really?4 -
Welcome back, it’s good to hear you sounding so positive, you’ve got so much to look forward to.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

Dont worry about people knowing you have been in rehab. The ones who matter will be glad you are doing the best for you and your family, the rest dont matter. As I have got older I find I care les and less about what think if that any consolation.

@Sun_Addict / @ladyholly thanks both.As for things to look forward to wife booked our October Greece trip. Actually quite looking forward to it no longer massively paranoid about what my family are saying about me ha. Not tripped off about leaving home really either managed it for a good while recently idk what that was all about tbh got worse and worse over the years not wanting to leave home. Bit odd really.
Know what you mean about what others think. Odd thing is I’ve always been partial to a !!!!!! you when I want but have also been overly concerned with others opinions too. Mental ha.6 -
Glad you are home and sounding so positive. Just take it easy and try and stay chilled wherever possible. Good you have your October trip booked and your wife sounds super supportive so that is great. All good things.
