I've read your diary right from the beginning but never posted.
I hope the return home today goes smoothly.
Looking 9ut for your daily updates to see how many times I can be offended 🤣😂 (originally from Clowne, grew up in Robin Hood Country, ollerton/boughton/Walesby way, and now live over the border in Derbyshire...🤣) regularly think 'hey, don't be so rude, that's me'.
Hope it was the fresh start you needed and you can enjoy your weekend.LBM in April 17 - Starting card debt £33554

Have to agree. A mate of mine earns the same as me but is about to marry into money and has become very pretentious/all about sending pictures and prices of the latest ridiculous expensive thing he’s bought etc. It’s really off putting. Even said something along the lines of “we’re in our thirties for Christ sake, shouldn’t be worrying about spending £500 on a nice dinner for a stag do”.woahsoah said:Glad to hear you're in a better frame of mind. I have total admiration for people who've come out addiction intact. If anyone pointed to a successful recovering addict and said "he/she used to be a coke head" I would admire them and not judge them. I can't even stop biting my nails. You need to get rid of the coke head guy who lives with his wealthy parents. This isn't a man to be envious of. Anyone relying on family wealth is looked down on in my circles (there are a few), and is often the target of ridicule!I'd focus on all the things you're doing right, like running a successful business providing a livelihood for you and your employees. I may earn well but I am jealous of this. I'm chained to a desk getting shouted at for problems outside my control. Don't balls it all up by overreaching for instant gratification.Best of luck for the return home buddy! Enjoy the time with the family :-)August 2019: £28.8k

Thanks all. Picked my son up from school thought !!!!!! it life too short to wonder what others think my wife and son want me in their lives that’s what matters really.
Wife cooked tuna steak, salad and Moroccan style cous cous this evening and ordered the F&M sparking tea in as I’m off alcohol. Definitely recommended if you’re looking for an alternative.
Not looked at the money etc. Wife bought me a bottle of Penhaligons Halfeti Leather thanks to whoever recommended on here think I may have found a new everyday favourite. Back working properly on Monday, going to do school hours until the end of the month haha I know lol - it’s important to have not too much stress right now so seemed a good way to get used to and incorporate new routines into my life.
Early nights too, off to bed soon.
@woahsoah thanks mate. Funny you should mention nail biting ha another thing I gave up in rehab haha def an anxious thing in my case though.
Yeah you’re 100 right re my mate. Go back a long, long way but I can’t deal with his !!!!!! any longer destructive 100% always has been. Recently spent the best part of six figs on an AM DBS to get me to arrange to go out fml, nice place to be ha only know as keeps messaging my wife pics of it telling her to pass them on to me.
Tbh I’ve got a lot of admiration for those who can stick working in a corporate env. I couldn’t do what you do - probably comes as little surprise but I’ve always had my issues with authority ha tbt that’s how I ended up a company director at 26 lol so not sure you’ve anything to be envious of ha.
@charlies_tribe thanks mate. I see a lot of life as a LL and in my line of work generally probably have a bit of a twisted sense of humour from it which possibly does comes across as just being a !!!!!! sometimes idk. Tbf I like to think I can laugh at myself too - wouldn’t say I’m a snob ha. However that said....Admitting to being from Clowne/ Ollerton fml, I own a couple of units that way can tell you now, there’s rough then there’s North Notts ex-colliery rough but not sure whether that’s worse or now being a Derby sheep ‘shearer’. 😜
@ryanm8655 thanks mate, I am definitely enjoying the time with my family.
When he starts buying AMs to get you out on the chang that’s the time to worry mate lol. Seriously, it’s a bit sad really. Money changes some people tbh seen it myself wouldn’t be surprised if he isn’t a bit insecure about marrying into money also though. Won’t say this guy was a mate as such but someone I knew married a girl from a very well to do, old money background ditched the BMW, started speaking like his grandma was the Queen and suddenly became massively into horses haha always thought it was !!!!!! hilarious tbh.

He bought a car just to get you to go out? This is the guy who became the king of put downs about you and what you earn, sons school etc?
I wonder who the real ‘let down’ is when he’s so desperate to sabotage you he’s willing to spend that amount of money. I suspect he’s extremely jealous of the lifestyle you have. Why else is he so desperate to still be part of something he’s openly slagged off. You’re better off without him and I think your wife needs to block him too.September 2017 Debt = £25330
Starting afresh.
You can do anything if you put your mind to it. x4 -
Nice to see you back at home. I'm sure you son was delighted that you came to pick him up from school with your wife.
You take it steady now for a few days before you head back to work.2 -

Totally agree. He has lost his family and is trying to ensure you lose yours. I know you manage his portfolio but I think it would be better for you to tell him to take it somewhere else and then he has no excuse to get in touch with either you or your wife.He bought a car just to get you to go out? You’re son must have been so happy to have you pick him up. You’re completely right, all that matters is you and your family. Who caress what others think, though I doubt they twigged anyway.
Dinner sounds divine. Love a tuna steak.Good call on work too, best to ease yourself in.
So happy for you dude, you seem in a better place than I’ve ever read in this diary.
Halfeti leather is nice, I’ve been tempted by it though I’ve stopped buying frags now ha.
You’re right re: the insecure thing. Her dad gave him an interview before giving him his blessing and a lot of it was money focussed. Though when he first met her his words were “I’d be stupid not to marry her” because she’s rich basically ha. It was very cringe. As it turns out they’re a great match and work well, so I’m very happy for them.August 2019: £28.8k

Went to bed early with the wife, sleep wasn’t as forthcoming as I’d hoped but managed to keep chilled about it and ok this morning. Not much planned for today, take son to school and help the Mrs out with a few jobs around the house after wife’s killer leg day and a morning chill out. Love it how she half kills me then slips in the chill out haha fml. Chicken & leek pie later will see how that goes wife no pastry expert and me neither ha she’s got dinner/ drinks etc planned out no temptation.@Nicnak / @CRANKY40 yep he’s an idiot lol not someone who I need in my life right now. Will need to deal with him sometime but right now can’t be risking it.
@RelievedSheff thanks mate, he was. I’ve got a lot to live for- very fortunate to have them. Wife got me the most planned out chill out going haha suits me not much time to dwell on things.3 -
@ladyholly yeah a lot to consider and I’m going to but it’s parked until next month.
@ryanm8655 thanks mate I am in a good place- just need to keep using the tools to move forward. A few of my wife’s mates from school know exactly where I’d gone know that much.
Hahaha re the blessing fml but doesn’t surprise me in the slightest. Tbf had I some opportunity back in my 20s at some fit, properly rich girl I would have 100% probably would have !!!!!! the BMW off too bought a green Range Rover with the tan leather haha there was no !!!!!! chance up here for me, my mate got the rich ones or his parents hooked him up lol. Tbh it’s the last thing that matters I wouldn’t want my wife to be from a rich family at the expense of always being in their pocket. My Mrs never really brought any money in and I still love her. Hope things going well on the dating front.1
