Thee way I spend my money on postage may not make sense to you but it does to me and helps me overpay the bank loan which has to be a minimum of £10.00 so a £3.20 post cost would probably just get lost in general stuff or I would think I had more more than I have as it could be weeks before I had another amount.
As I said to alt you cut you cloth the best way for yourself.
My point is that the postage cost is part of the costs for selling something,
It is just reduction off the income bit  like another ebay fee,  how do you account for them and the ebay income?

    Whatever works for you

  • I would recommend stopping going over your figure in the couple of hours before bed - this stops me sleeping as I go over the figures in my head whilst trying to get to sleep.  Watching that film may seem like a waste of time, but it's actually helping your mind to turn off, relax and get ready for sleep.

@alt80 you have come so far and done brilliantly.  Please tell me to mind my own business, but has this urge to compare your spending habits with those of  others come up in counselling? I think moving away from this is part of building your self esteem for you as a person, not an economic unit.  Again, this may be too close to the bone but your wife suffers from the same thing in my view, expressed by her IG anxiety.  You have a huge human value that's unconnected with your net worth or even how rich you seem to be to those on the outside.  Please keep.on doing stuff that reinforces that.  Part of the value of somewhat colourless routine is that it helps quiet the mind and you get to know who you really are.  Your son's bedtime isn't colourless but isn't life in the fast lane either; it will take a while to get used to  every day stuff but this is what real life is and once you're used to it, I think you'll find it hugely beneficial.  The chang and IG both set up completely unsustainable expectations that will poison your lives because both are based on a deliberately unattainable state; even if you occasionally get there, you can't live there.   Please keep going; you have so many supporters and admirers on this board Humdinger

Not been very well tbh not touched any stuff or anything but almost at the point of going down that road today tbh. Spoke to the pros instead, keep on the right road. Know I need to give up the other obsessive stuff it tends to give me a little bit of a buzz, stop doing the better things, bad sleep and bad cravings. Almost gave in this afternoon knew I had two choices speak to pros or give in. Spoke to the pros.

I did give in with wife told her she could have the bag if she sells some stuff later. I’m an idiot - basically can’t deal with her calling me a debt ridden pauper that massively kicked me off tbh. Disappointed with myself and know I’m going back to her celebrating she’s won. It’s out of the budget completely unaccounted for I don’t know where the money is coming from if she doesn’t sell some stuff completely lost it on the phone to the pros want to do right thing 100% but I’ve got her wanting stuff and I can’t stop looking at AMs myself.

Yesterday I didn’t want to see family idk why just couldn’t leave my office completely compulsive counsellor reckons I don’t learn to stop it will lead me down the wrong road, idk what is wrong with me tbh. Don’t want to spaff all my efforts up the wall really been working on this but the pressure at home is unbearable. Constant worries about my wife leaving taking my son and having no one after everything I’ve tried to make up for too late. I’m !!!!!! losing it.

@RelievedSheff lol I’m bit more than a badge guy mate.

In the space of a week your wife wanted a ‘bargain’ jacket for £749, a swimsuit for £300 and a ‘bargain’ bag for £1.75k off her new favourite app, and this is all whilst you’ve explained to her that you are both on a budget. That’s almost £3k in a week on ‘stuff’. Words fail me.

Declared early on cutting alcohol lol second think I want right now is a drink and it’s the second last thing I should be touching lol.

@Legs21 idk she wants a lifestyle. Hates the budget and my financial situation. I get that but I can’t keep doing it and I’m not ‘sorting my earnings’ as she likes to say quickly either.

You have not lied to your wife. She can have the bag once she has sold enough stuff to cover the cost of it.

Have you been to Sheffield this weekend @alt80?

15 brand new unregistered Range Rovers were stolen from the dealers over the weekend 😲

I told her today she could get it so long as she sells the stuff later. I’m going back to her having bought it. If she sells stuff I’d rather it be a card overpayment but yeah if she sold the stuff and bought the bag I’d be ok with that. I don’t trust she’s going to sell anything tbt and it’s an extra £1.75k added to my debt. She’s been awful for wanting stuff since the new purchase card came idk why she knows the score. I shouldn’t have given in.

Not been to Sheffield in years mate ha FML most stolen car right now.

@getmore4less you’re right mate I shouldn’t miss my son’s bedtime. Need to go home and face it really.

You should not have given in to your wife or this will continue.  That purchase card balance will be sky high before you get to June or July when the deals run out. Always a mistake to rely on credit cards when spending uncontrolled.

It should come out of all her current allocations for the year.

They get replaced once she starts selling stuff.

No new money in her spend pots the only from sales.
