There is plenty across the main channels to fill time.
Some needs looking for through the players.

    Load up the BBC iplayer.
there should be a Beta option in settings.
There are a few good UHD programs.

A Perfect planet is new Attenborough stunning.
    Seven worlds.
    Blue planet II.
    Dynasties.
There are a few others and sometimes live events if we get any

We are finding paying off the cards and then shutting the accounts quite satisfying. It is almost a way of saying goodbye to that debt forever.

Thanks all started the spreadsheet but felt so tired I just went to bed. Need to do it today. So !!!!!! tired all the time carry on carrying on down the right path though. Tend to get on when I make my mind up I’m doing something without excuses so hopefully will keep working for me. Woke at a reasonable hour and got a load of work done 7.00-9.30am unheard of for me haha. Staff will think someone hacked my account from getting emails at that time lol.

Parents/ work haha yeah I know where people are coming from tbf parents have a very social job but my mum is mad for the work life lol. My work very different really - have to think things through a lot more. Would probably be like my dad was if I had a pub he used to be a massive drinker lol.

Cards I’m going to cancel the ones with no balance. Ha @ryanm8655 know what you mean after the refinance I promised myself I’d never have card balances again fml everyone on here would have been saved from me if I’d stuck to my own promises lol. @RelievedSheff weirdly looking forward to cancelling them - feels like start of a new era. 😆

@getmore4less thanks mate. I’ll check that out. Son has seen blue planet 2. Don’t think he’s seen the others so will check them out. Quite enjoying settling down of an evening to a bit of tv tbh. Bit of a guilty pastime I suppose lol.

Are you sure it isn't this account that has been hacked ? :)
Look at you with all this reasonableness.
Seriously, I'm glad you're seeing benefits already even though its probably still tough going.

Don't worry about the sleep - your body is telling you what it needs at the moment.
Relaxing TV with your son sounds perfect tbh right now even if it feels weird to you - it doesn't always have to take a lot of effort to make quality time. Maybe there's also a natural early bird fighting back here. You're possibly meant for earlier nights and productive mornings.

I should imagine shaking it up a bit with some different patterns and routines will help with the drug habit, avoiding creating the scenarios where its your go to.
Your parents sound like they have a fair bit of the 'extremes' going on - work ethic is one thing, 100h+ weeks for 50 years is quite another.

Middle of another week and you're still going strong - keep going @alt80

@alt80 as I found before my LBM, work can be a place to hide from issues. All respect to your mother, but her attitude to work may reflect this and her upbringing; be interesting to hear her parents' views.  Your comment re doing better quality, quicker work having had a break are true insight...even Olympic athletes have planned breaks in training for this very reason.

Apologies btw if my earlier comments on the importance of good food came across as thinking that your diets are poor; far from it! I just think that unlike some on some boards here that you can't achieve best nutrition at knock down prices (know I'm lucky to be able to think and act otherwise)- unless you run a small-holding maybe and I don't see you doing that any time soon. I may yet be surprised though!

Re berating yourself over previous debt and decisions.   I went through this when I was paying the big 100k debt back; until I came to the conclusion that I couldn't have had my LBM without all the experiences that led up to it, esp the bad decisions.   I'm now grounded and sensible- which is what I'm getting from your posts these days- so maybe you and I are in the part of the spectrum that needs intense rewriting of internal scripts to get to sensible? However, weirdly, I'm grateful for all the angst because it was necessary; still more grateful for the point I've reached.  You are doing brilliantly Humdinger

Parents can be a much bigger influence than we like to acknowledge or admit to.

I'm actually cancelling NOW TV this month, paying £5.99 pm which I feel is too much for what I'm getting out of the service. Only offered another 99p discount upon cancellation which isn't enough. Been with them years and watched loads of their back catalog, not much new that interests me and the few shows I'd really miss I can re join temporarily in future to see.

I've got Watchlists stacking up on the free services especially I Player and also have Prime Video as a nice side benefit to the delivery.

So focusing on the free players for a while then when I've watched through those am considering Netflix, as several shows I want to watch there.

My physical dvd rental service will have to go soon as no new releases and being a customer for 5 years means I'm running out of older titles to rent.

Saving £9.99+5.99 a month means the Netflix cost when I'm ready is budget neutral

I too wouldn't worry about feeling tired - seems you have been running at a sleep deficit for rather a long time and have a bit of payback there too.  And personally, I find working at high efficiency is more tiring than getting less accomplished spread over a longer time.
