Thanks all.
Have managed to get some sleep last night. Having bad thoughts about the debts this morning made myself log on here for some sense haha. Definitely this !!!!!! BMW situation- at the point where it can go end of next month was ready to do the right thing. Mathematically it makes sense would get the RR balloon covered in time if I don’t do anymore stupid stuff then my head saying at least the BMW is quick anything else we’ll get won’t be my kind of car if it’s new and if it’s old I’m probably just trying to justify more BS to myself, don’t even know what not being in debt looks like etc. Wife thinks I’m in no fit state to make decisions just making my anger really bad. Know what I need to do just another example of me not doing it. Don’t know !!!!!! is wrong with me tbh feel like this and I want the stuff heart racing like I’m on it anyway fml. Will ring the number not going back on it.FILs calendar set me off anyway not just my 50 shades of credit. It’s get in touch with an old friend today. FML not gonna lie I know I’ve lost decent mates for a reason. Can’t deal with that today.
@katsu/ @Nicnak ha think we all know some types no matter what you earn. I’ve spent far too long trying to compete with people who will always have a lot and just feel !!!!!! about myself for things out of my control.2 -
Sounds like you need to avoid going into a tailspin above all else. Cut off access to your dealer, speak to your counsellor, focus on work, go on the chill app. Anything to avoid going back on the drugs or making bad decisions. Put your credit cards somewhere safe. I know the calendar task from your FIL is meant well but if it means extra stress don't do it. When your head is in a better place though absolutely connecting with more genuine mates is a must.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Why not adapt the calendar - just get in touch with someone you're still in contact who might like a kind word or connection - even tenants or anyone you haven't said Happy (or at least better) New Year to yet or make a couple of calls of appreciation to staff.
Someone checking in on you can be quite valuable.3 -
Any replacement car doesn't have to be quick or your kind of car. It is primarily for your wife to use. You have the RR. Or keep the BMW and get rid of the RR when it reaches the half way point. You are still way too wrapped in image.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Wife isn’t even that bothered about the BM just thinks I can’t control myself fml probably right idk rather have me in debt. Think I am more bothered about it than she is but know financially it makes no sense. Not the same as ftype but am agitated about giving it up. Idk why I don’t mind it but not exactly in love with it and it is the key to getting the RR balloon in full.
Will check in on a couple of staff who I’ve not spoken to much who are working from home. 🙂 Thank you for suggestion.4 -

Can’t get my head in the right place probably need to get on the chill app or something but feel awful thinking I’m going to make no progress on the cards except for the mins until I clear the o/d to £1k as it makes no sense to do so when the cards are all 0%. Honestly never even thought about !!!!!! personal debts now all that on my mind and how to get it gone ASAP. 😆1

The only thing I'd say about the BMW, is that if you choose to get rid next month, going back to two cars in future may feel like a step you don't want to take.
I think you need to think about the longer term sustainability of only having one car and what that really means for you as a family.
I think we all live in hope that in 6/9 months time that some sort of normality will resume in our day to day lives.Make £2023 in 2023 (#36) £3479.30/£2023

The car is for your wife mainly. Let her choose or at least have a say. As your son gets older he will probably engage in more activities which are not within walking distance. It doesn't need too be fast. Be honest would you be happy at your wife racing around with your son in the car. Personally I wouldn't go for a mini as you may find yourself or wife transporting several children with gear for hobbies etc I would want a 4door saloon or estate to allow for the stuff that comes with children. Our car is over 20years old and has just got through MOT for the 4th year running with only an advisory for brake pads. It's not fast or pretty but it does what we need. Think of your 2nd car as a work horse for your wife. Your RR is yours and can be changed to whatever you want at the appropriate time.
I did have a thought last night re you driving and taking drugs. Not a good combination and if you get stopped for speeding which you admit you do you may well be drug wiped. Consequences you lose your licence, impacts on your business, horrendous insurance when you get your licence back, a police record, admitting it to your wife and son. Is it worth it?3
