Well this is the strangest nye ever lol. No plans whatsoever doesn’t really feel like there’s anything to celebrate just walking into another corona lockdown effectively. Even when we’re out I’m still on the restrictive budget so don’t know what’s better, being on lockdown or being able to do everything with all the temptations and knowing to sort this out need to forget doing much. Better nights sleep at least woke up feeling a bit better still not amazing but better is a start. Tbh quite glad nothing open today could easily go and blow a couple of k for absolutely no reason but feeling sorry for myself not had that to contend with at these levels in a few weeks. Just another flavour of my self destructive behaviour lol.

£450 sale though swmbo has an excuse for taking nothing back apart from the GoPro (only thing ordered online) with new lockdown. Sale has actually paid this time too so will update balances later.

  • Great news on the sale and go pro going back.
If IG has that much of an impact she needs time out.
Hoping sleep is better it's awful no sleep.

    September 2017 Debt = £25330

    Starting afresh.

You can do anything if you put your mind to it. x

It will be a strange new years eve that's for sure.

I would book a covid test if I were you. Not everyone exhibits the cough and high temperature. Feeling tired and wiped out is a fairly common symptom in those who don't.

    Glad you slept better.

Hope you manage to have a good news years with the family.

@Nicnak 100 agree re IG it’s toxic for her tbh. Can’t confiscate the app or her phone off her though lol. Fair bit better sleep.

@RelievedSheff I’ve got too much work next week for covid ha. Suppose I should perhaps rule it out do go to a fair few places with my work and was going to go into the office 2/3 days next week can’t bare a teams staff review for everyone so would be the responsible thing. Think it’s stress/ lack of sleep generally tbh wife and son both fine and no typical covid symptoms probably just wasting their time.

First nye with son for me. Earlier felt annoyed to not be going out but actually looking forward to spending the evening with him. Not sure he’ll be able to stay up
    until midnight though.
  • We might not make it ti midnight either 🤣🤣🤣

Do have a test. You are not wasting peoples time (or yours for that matter).  Yes it is probably a lack of sleep but just in case.... You do not want to risk passing anything to your staff or anyone else especially when you are busy. Re jigging staff is always a pain.
With regards to your son we used to put daughter to bed at normal time and then wake her about 11.45 to see in the New Year. She was a bit sleepy but always asked to do it. The advantage was she would then sleep a bit later in the morning.
Glad you slept a bit better. Have a good New Year albeit a strange one.

@RelievedSheff 😆😆. Midnight is an early one for me lol.

@ladyholly thanks like that idea re son. Hopefully he’ll be better nyd if we do that. He’s usually at the in-laws. Got the joy of another hour or two FaceTime with them later lol and my parents too. Genuinely this is the only nye I’ve not spent in a pub in my life. 😆 Parents used to throw massive dinner/ dance parties, good times.

Agreed re staff been hard work this past year anyone had anything like covid I told them to self isolate - all over the place in and out of properties in my line of work so can’t really be too blasé about it. Looking like you need fever/ cough or loss of smell/ taste for covid test according to website if I’m not right by Monday will cancel some work and go anyway I think. Don’t want to add killing someone’s grandma to my conscience.

definitely a weird one this year,

The last few years we have done quiet, go out in the afternoon/early evening but come home before the crowds sometimes have a nice dinner open a bottle of something  but often just go to bed early  because we were tired.

We used to go away a lot(skiing) party crazy and do the calls home UK midnight, but since my parents died that becomes my super sad trigger.

Enjoy your night in, if the go pro was not going back you could make a fun movie :)

I suspect round us there will be the garden fireworks anyway so if still up we pop out for a watch.

    ------------------------------------------------
I have been fairly OK most of the year happy with social distancing, masks being careful around strangers  and only meeting selected people and family been going out to eat and the pub(only when quiet)

have a look at this its a week behind but you get the idea and can scroll back

    zoom in for your street/postcode.
    https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/details/interactive-map

Now I am being ultra careful our numbers shot up(180-520) in our small area in 21 days in Dec we had pockets(where the schools were) that were way ahead of our bit(250-500) in a week another has gone from 220-800 in 3 weeks

These are the ones getting tested and there will be loads more Asymptomatic.

Notts is much lower but could get hit if the wave of the new variant spreads out.

Now is not the time to be letting the guards down, as much of your business is getting out and about you don't need to be having anyone going into isolation along with all their contacts.

Even if you don't have it you are probably more susceptible being run down so be careful out there.

    ----------------------------------------------
Was thinking about catch up sleeps wonder if any others remember as a kid we would go to school parents would go to work and by Friday everyone was done for,  Sat/Sun were the lie in mornings to recover

Glad you managed a bit of sleep - 3.45am wake up for me, having a really bad run with sleep so another who might not see the New Year in. We've done quiet New Year for a while after all manner of places and parties in the past but feel so sorry for my boys, fully legal and driving but nowhere to go ! Had a health scare this week as well, not quite resolved, so no doubt that's playing a part. I've written off Q1 2021 in my head, just a case of getting by until Spring and see where we are then.

I think you'll feel a bit better overall @alt80 when you get back to work properly even if its daunting. Being at home with your wife, and doing little else, especially now she is being quite needy and without her usual level of parental support, means everything will be very concentrated. The money/lack of money stuff is not your whole life, but it probably feels like it right now.

I think you've done brilliantly to resist the temptations to spend and to use - I cannot imagine a harder couple of weeks for it than this with the general weirdness, Christmas and your wife going rogue. I hope you are mentally giving yourself some credit. Are you brave enough to delete the supplier contact details?

@getmore4less can’t even imagine a quiet one not under these circumstances. NYE skiing I imagine is epic, we’ve enjoyed a few skiing hols but not NYE. Nowhere better than London for NYE imo. Usually stay home though and just go into town. Def not in bed at midnight night only just getting started too much to drink and the rest keeping it classy as always ha. Tbf I am getting a bit old for it now, time to give it up before I become a total sad act lol.

Sorry to hear re parents. As infrequently as I see mine can’t imagine them not being on the end of the phone.

Don’t even know what we’re doing tonight apart from me cooking not even in the mood for a drink tbh. Might be later, on the sober month as of tomorrow so should be making the most of today ha. Currently wondering why the !!!!!! I’ve signed up to that haha member of staff who organises it sent me a message no pulling out now haha he takes it seriously lol.

Thought you were Notts based too mate must be mixing you up with someone else. Just had a look at the area map, not too bad round here none of NG is as bad as it was apart from Kirkby-in-Ashfield & Bilborough ha.

Agreed re business, it’s been a testing one in ways I’d never even considered, whole year has for all kinds of reasons tbh. Imagine there’s a few like me reconsidered lifestyles etc know a few of my staff making some changes too. One lost so much weight she’s hardly recognisable quite fit actually now ha.

Don’t remember the lie ins in my house, my mum was a machine.

@warby68 Also written Q1 off tbh. Wife holding out hope we’re tier 2 in 4 weeks time, she’s dreaming. Hope the health scare is resolved soon for you the sleep is killing me tbh so 100 understand where you’re coming from. Def feel sorry for anyone younger than about 25 should be having a good time and stuck in. Are your kids home?

Do want to get back to work don’t get me wrong, just don’t know how I’m getting through if I can hardly keep my eyes open. Feel like a !!!!!! danger to myself and others tbh. Bit better today so hopefully feel a bit better by Monday all being well. The lack of money stuff def feels like my whole life. Knew facing up to it would make me feel like a total failure. Always felt I earn well and tbh I know I do compared to a lot round here but doesn’t seem to go far when paying debts and not willing to run up more credit.

I’ve deleted a few times, know how to recover phone ha and tbh I’m not the only person I know who uses it either. Currently is deleted but doesn’t mean too much to me. Sound like a junkie saying that FML.
