Variable spends: £545/£1550
Almost lost it with the wife spending £35 on a drive in cinema for the weekend haha. 100 don’t see the point in sitting in the car to watch a film we’ve seen before (Christmas) would rather just watch the film at home on tv tbh with a hot choc, few snacks etc. Definitely no popcorn will be consumed in my car lol. Feels like 1. a waste of money and 2. waste of a few hours. Appreciate she doesn’t need to talk to me about spending £35 lol but would have been nice to be asked more annoyed it’s just something I don’t want to do and going to be expected to. Could very easily tell her to go with son and I’ll have a wonder into town but don’t think that’d go down well either, just really don’t fancy sitting in my car watching a film with a load of other cars doing the same thing. 100 we go in the BMW we’ll struggle to see the screen but go in RR and they’ll put us right at the back. At least if we go in the Range and can put the massage function on lol might fall to sleep haha.
Picked son up and did spend a bit of money on a Starbucks - don’t know what’s wrong with me can make better coffee at home but those places always draw me in.
Not been too bad a day really apart from the weekend plans.
Exercise: rest.
Work: fair bit quieter, did speak to lettings staff re my properties. They are going to look after them for the most part. New purchase progressing slowly had offer through.
Family: picked son up and spent some time with him. Wife busy booking this stupid weekend trip so had to pick him up on my own.
Well-being: didn’t lose it with wife haha.4 -
I'm sure you will have fun at the drive in movie.
It is something we have not done yet but would like too. Want to do it in the Sierra though so it won't be for a while yet 🤣🤣🤣1 -
I remember going to an outdoor cinema to see The Greatest Showman, it was amazing. At least it won’t matter if other people are eating noisy nachos or slurping their drinks or faffing about on their phone or constantly taking. Just chill and enjoy spending time with the family.MFW 2022 #71 £4400/£44003

I'm with you on the staying at home, but it is something different and I am sure your son will love it.
Could you not take a flask of your own coffee to avoid going to Starbucks? If it tastes nicer then you might as well take your own out!

I am with you on the drive in cinema but it sounds like a nice family thing to do. Personally I would rather sit in my comfortable armchair in the living room but your son will enjoy the novelty of it. £35 sounds like a lot. Friends of mine did The Greatest Showman in the summer in Wadebridge and it cost about £5 per ticket. You could take a flask of hot chocolate.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. It was £32 + booking fee and only way to book is online of course so £35. Definitely a lot to park up and watch a film IMO. Tbh I’m not a fan of going to the cinema anyway. Enjoy watching a film in the comfort of my own home especially this time of year get the fire going, hot choc and a few snacks much better than sat on uncomfortable seats someone has no doubt spilled pop all over, people around with their annoying habits all for a bigger screen, never got the attraction of it.
Son is looking forward to it, I might not be but not going to spoil it for him, told him I can’t wait and we’ll have to find the Santa hats together tomorrow. My guilt for past has been terrible this evening tbh.
We should have been going on two steam train trips - Santa train and just wife and I for Christmas lunch on the Northern Belle train - moved to next year. Possibly the last year we’ll do that as it’s a very expensive lunch - will miss the extravagant days etc not gonna lie and am concerned when things are back to normal is when I’ll go mad having to live to this budget tbh. Other part of me is really ashamed I’ve effectively wound up mortgaging some of those times when I’ve lived like a king for a day.
Ha I won’t be taking coffee to inevitability sit through the last half desperate to pee. Don’t do my job for long before knowing if you don’t take the opportunity, the next place will have been drained down and the need will get a lot worse, same applies for being trapped in a car not going anywhere. Wife wants to take drinks etc thinks I’m being ridiculous and puts it down to my coffee habit haha but 100 I’m right and she’ll thank me. So if you go to drive in cinema don’t take drinks lol.

Haha, I'm with you on the cinema. For me it's the biggest waste of money on earth. £25 to watch a film (London prices), no thanks. My friends don't understand but I completely get where you're coming from haha. To me it's a waste of money and a waste of an evening. The everyman places are cool but it's just so expensive. Would rather go for dinner. But it is different when you have kids, get your pleasure from them enjoying themselves and making them happy :-)
