not allowed to sell fresh yeast!

Options
I've just been into a local supermarket, and I asked at the bakery if I could purchase some fresh yeast, the reply I got was "No" we are not allowed to sell it to customers. So I phone head office, and yup it's true, they are not allowed to sell it due to health and safety!

Now I am sure I read somewhere that a bakery/bakers had to be able to offer yeast to the public, am I dreaming or is it true?

Thanks all

Try a "real" bakery? If you can find one these days, that is.

My DD might make the odd post for me
  • the really nice bakers in our Tesco give me yeast, but it's just occurred to me that I should have "declared" it at the till to be weighed and....... ooops!!!!
  • My asda give out fresh yeast free if you ask at the bread counter.
Life is too short to waste a minute of it complaining about bad luck. Find joy in the simple things, show your love for those around you and be grateful for all that you have. :)
  • Our Tesco give it for free - and if you declare it at the till, they don't want to know. Sainsburys sell it for 16p regardless of how much you get - which makes me feel better - lol
