Fix is ending in 2 weeks
You should have paid the penalty to bail out of your fix back in Sept onto separate suppliers. Your electricity would have been 10p, whereas now it's going to be 13p+, around £150 a year more. Do it now as you're already going to overshoot your fix ending.
  • The comparison sites are showing symbio energy as the cheapest. But they have very bad reviews.

Symbio are a niche company. They are generally always the cheapest for electricity but they have an odd billing system and bill you a month in advance. If you just want the cheapest they are good, but you have to keep an eye on them, give regular meter readings and check you bills regularly. If you just want an easy life then choose the next cheapest supplier, as their customer service department leaves a lot to be desired.

Whilst they were offering electricity at 10p/kWh, the incompetence was bearable.  At 13p/kWh I'm not so sure and would probably go with Neon Reef if I wasn't already a Symbio customer. I had a 20 minute argument on the 'phone with Symbio yesterday simply about their refusal to change the Estimated Annual Consumption on my account.  How something so brain numbingly simple can result in so much aggro is beyond me.  Not only are they incompetent, they appear to be thick as well (I guess the latter leads to the former!) so having a rational discussion with them is impossible.

Me: "Do you agree that in the last 12 months my consumption has been 4300kWh"
    Symbio: "Yes"
Me:"So why not set my EAC to 4300kWh? That's probably the best estimate you'll get of my annual consumption because it IS my annual consumption"
Symbio: "Because of the pandemic, the industry recommends that we should set your EAC to 5500kWh". [It's currently 5000kWh]
Me:"I don't care about the pandemic. You have the last 12 months figures in front of you.  What is actually wrong with you?"
Symbio: <puts me on hold to consult with someone else>
Symbio:"We will change your EAC to 4700kWh as per our email of 30th December 2020".
Me: "I'm not going to bet money on it as you didn't do what you said you were going to do at any time during the last 7 weeks!".
  • I got a smart meter fitted 2 months ago. Only well known companiesbim getting are utility point and eon
  • These are the dual fuel ones. Separately only symbio are there at the top end and goto energy. Utility point aswell
  • Im thinking just bite the bullet with eon for 1 year or utility point
