Registering as a childminder takes many, many months...silvercar said:You have been offered solutions, you just don't seem to see them. Easiest would be if one grandparent registered as a childminder.0 -
And is impossible if all the children they care for are related to the childminder.JimmyTheWig said:

The OP works in a school, presumably their role was not required from lockdown onwards and then the school holidays started when they don't work. Schools have only been back a week or two, so the childcare arrangements have only been in place since then, which is why they've responded the way they have to the comments they've been breaking the rules 'all along'. They haven't just for the last couple of weeks since term started.
I'm guesssing there's some pre-schoolers in this as unless you live in an area where childcare is extortionately expensive because I'm struggling to get my head round 'not earning enough to pay childcare' for school aged children, unless hours only start just as kids are finishing.
Can anyone talk to their empoyer about changing any hours around so the need for childcare is reduced/eliminated?

Could your mum be your and your sisters private nanny? Not sure about any legal requirements but worth a look.0

Working in a school you have a professional responsibility to follow the rules
What happened to the teachers being worried about going back to work and being safe - now we know why - they cant follow the rules themselves, it wasnt the kids they were worried about, it was themselevs.
You will think I'm being unfair and harsh but having continued to work in a hospital throughout, I have seem many colleagues with much trickier arrangements to make, but they managed without breaking the rules - which now happens to be law - we would probably get at least disciplined for bringing that type of risk into the workplace0 -
You’ll be fine, just don’t go shouting about your arrangement to the world.I’m not sure why everyone expects the Government to pick up the tab for anything and everything to do with COVID - they’re your kids and it’s your responsibility to arrange and pay for childcare, not the taxpayer.I wish you the best of luck, and I’m sure you’ll be fine.1

Thanks for the input, it’s idiotic, mind.mattyprice4004 said:You’ll be fine, just don’t go shouting about your arrangement to the world.I’m not sure why everyone expects the Government to pick up the tab for anything and everything to do with COVID - they’re your kids and it’s your responsibility to arrange and pay for childcare, not the taxpayer.I wish you the best of luck, and I’m sure you’ll be fine.I have had childcare arrangements in place long before covid. My life and finances were balanced to ensure I can pay my way and support my family as best I can. The government has now decided this arrangement doesn’t fit their agenda, and I’m suddenly a villain?0 -
You aren't a villian. The government doesn't have an agenda against you. They are attempting to limit the spread of a virus during a pandemic.matilda.cs said:

As has been said multiple times, get on with what you need to do and everything will be fine. Unless you do something loud and !!!!!! your neighbours off then the police will not care. The police will be a lot more interested in a drunken party not a few kids with their grandparents, you are really overthinking this.
