Anyone Not Suffering During this?

I hope so, because that's the only way.bradders1983 said:I think he meant financially.1 -
I live in London, and I really enjoyed the lockdown. I’m not very sociable and I didn’t really miss the social occasions, which I find a bit awkward. On the other hand, the air quality improved, and the traffic reduced. Noise levels went right down, too. We didn’t run out of anything important food wise. All good.
Oh, and I decided to retire just before lockdown started, so it was financially neutral for me.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?1 -
i think as a generalisation - most haven't "suffered" - and I am speaking as someone who has worked for the NHS for 25+ years in a clinical/patient facing role.onwards&upwards said:
You are using healthcare staff as an example of people who haven't suffered during this?Dr_Crypto said:Healthcare. OK it was tough on some wards but in the main it was OK and there was unlimited overtime and huge spending on upgrading facilities for online working and a possible second wave.
I would agree that some have suffered - but as a ratio, it would actually be quite low1 -
I've saved loads of money that I would normally have spent on stuff that was unavailable during lockdown. I'm not sure I'm comfortable classing it as a win given the circumstances. A silver lining maybe?2

Many Self Employed tradespeople. Quids in with the SEISS grants and mostly still working away for cash.0

Research scientists, toilet paper manufacturers, my local bathroom shop as no one is going on holiday so they have decided to upgrade their bathrooms instead...1

Anyone who works for cash still have to declare that income to HMRC. Ironically, if they haven’t been declaring it that would have reduced their SEISS entitlement.superbigal said:Many Self Employed tradespeople. Quids in with the SEISS grants and mostly still working away for cash.4 -
I have worked for a frozen meal delivery company for 15 years and the last 6 months has been so busy.
We normally have mainly older customers but that has changed during covid. Our franchise only has took on six more staff.1 -
It’s a mixed bag. I work in care in an indirect role. I’ve a secure job, had a pay rise, been working from home for the duration. Spending far less than usual, particularly on fuel / food / activities.
I spend much of my time talking to people on the front-line however, who have been dealing with death and devastation for months. It has been a bit of a rollercoaster emotionally, with some dreadfully sad tales, but a lot of humanity in the midst of it.0
