When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important 😀

Morning guys
thought I'd start us off. I am not expecting big things from myself as I feel ghastly with a tooth ache, which is just affecting me all over! I am waiting on a call back from the dentist.... Got an appt for tomorrow
* TOMM - just the basics today, do not want to be spending time cleaning!
* madam had last of fajita chicken in a wrap for lunch
* spag bol in the sc. Still haven't made it!
* might photo and list a few things on fleabay/facebay
* cook Roast chicken given to us by dd. Might whip up some muffins for madam's lunchbox or after school snack
* make batch of soup. Don't think I'll be in the mood for proper food for a few days....
* rehouse items in the kitchen. We are starting to re-decorate
* Have a lovely bubble bath and read my book
Ok that's me I thinkDF as at 30/12/16

Thanks @determined_new_ms for starting us up this week.
I am trying to stretch content of fridge with £20 to last through Thursday. So tonight is Mexican fried rice and the big question is where are the coreander, and will there be any chicken left to add or will it be vegetarian?
SO I need to sort out 3 more cheap dinners for this week, that doesen't seem like variations of pasta w vege and sausage!
Time to do research and get creative???
Today I am having an interesting day at work planning SD lessons for the whole of the first term, whilst still challenging the students.

Hi
Thanks to determined_new_ms for starting us off. Hope your toothache is better soon.
Had a rubbish week last week suffering with migraines and didn’t achieve/do much, although I have had 5 NSDs so good from that point of view. Am hoping for a generally more productive week this week. Plan for today as follows:- Work
- Make SW quiche
- Make up a couple of days worth of overnight oats
- Print out SW & PON recipes
- Cut down card to A4 size and print out Luna Wolf sanitary pads pattern
- Go through gardening catalogues, make list of anything I’m interested in and put catalogues in recycling
- Put empty boxes in mum’s room
- Take pictures of two items and put on FB Marketplace
- Swagbucks/Prolific/PMP
- Do some knitting

Thank you to @determined_new_ms for starting us off this week and I hope the toothache gets sorted tomorrow.
@ziggy2407 Hope you're doing ok lovely lady.
@ditty1234 ooo mexican rice sounds nice
@Betharooni Good luck with your week, you sound focused!
Today's mainly been spent getting ds1 ready for back to school tomorrow.
In the way of small things..
* both kids have grown but I've just been able to pull away the wonderweb as last years trousers were too long!! That was easier then I expected!
* name labels put on everything, in the hope of less items getting lost (should be easier to start with as they're not doing gym for a few weeks and I think ds2 will be staying in one class room rather then changing for each lesson)
* use up lunch... had some new potatoes left so I fried them in a bit of oil with some curry powder and onions, shared a tin of beans between us and omelette.
* dinner will be veg from the freezer with mash and some left over pork (enough mash made to do for today and tomorrow)
* weather awful so I've done a walk and talk on the treadmill using facetime with my folks
* checked banking/updated cashbook
* run the dishwasher on the quick wash
* made ds1s packed lunch for tomorrow
Take care all. -
P.s Hope the regulars who aren't posting at the minute are doing ok.Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Afternoon folks!
Ooof I don't know where the time has gone. OH has gone back to work today but I'm off. Working Friday instead of today to help human traffic flow in the office - we can only have 4 in at a time dt covid regs.
Because OH is back in work and he's teaching 1-2-1 he needed a lot more masks. I found a new pattern that I though might be more stable and comfortable for longer wear (Mortal Kombat style as opposed to flat with pleats). It IS more comfortable and stable (at least so far, we'll know when he comes home). The pattern was a free one from a blog and very easy to follow the instructions. However, they are a 3 layer mask and I was making 6 of them. It took me all blimmin day! From 9am to about 5pm!
I do confess to a 2 hour break in the middle as an old work colleague nipped round with his wife. It was fab to see them and it meant that the box of bits that I rescused from his desk could be removed from under my bed. He wasn't able to pick them up from the office as the administrators wanted everything gone while Wales was still in lockdown.
After I finished the masks, I nipped up to the allotment for a bit to have a good tidy. OH got back from busking while I was out (made a grand total of £15 ahaha) and them we trated ourselves to a dab of prosecco and some Gu cheesecake.
Today we went to the gym this morning, then I made some apple and blackberry jelly. This afternoon I've repainted the sign for our allotment. I'd originally printed out a cartoon version of OH and I to stick on the sign but the ink faded pretty much straight away so I've painted it on with acrylic paint instead. I've done a pretty fab job, even if I do say so myself!
This evening I was going to tackle a sewing frog - the ghost of Christmas Present's robe. At least, i was going to draw out a pattern for it but I discovered that I'm out of pattern paper. I need to order some other sewing supplies anyway so that's my job now. I have also marked some relevant parts of my sewing book that will help me.
Have a good evening all

Thanks for the thread @determined_new_ms 😊
Today has been incredibly busy due to doing nothing in the house over the weekend (despite my best intentions yesterday) and being back at work after my leave - I got up early and cleaned the house then caught up with 2 weeks of work backlog... I'm exhausted! 🙈😂
I've done 4 laundry loads and hung one on the line (the others had to be put in td as not enough space on the line and need it sorted today).
I've gone through the fridge and found all the stuff that needs using up so am making a really random dinner tonight - I have courgettes layered with black olives, capers and coriander; ratatouille; chilli jackfruit; cannellini bean dip and garlic crushed potatoes. I'm planning on making wraps with everything other than the courgettes and potatoes which I will serve on the side.
I've sent in my electricity reading in to my new supplier and I'm having another NSD today!

@1LuckyLady Mexican Fried rice is one of my new super budget adaptable lovelynes dishes. It was even a bit of a coproduction so great one.
Everybody is a bit antsy this week back to school, back to uni, back to work - oh dear students might turn up!
As I'm getting a bit more money this money than I thought - I think it's (healthy) comfort foods for the rest of the week! We might all need a boost for the imune system anyways the way infection rates are going at the moment, we are prime targets!
Stay safe, wash your hands, brush your teeth, eat an apple and give your house hold a hug - we all need it.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

Just found this. Not sure this is small but I'm going to tell all to my wife about the mess I'm in. Also see if I have any hope of getting a remortgage to consolidate it.7
