Made it...
this weekend I must wash my car - parked under a tree where a dirty fruit-eating bird's been sat. Plus MOT prep.
and do a bit of straighening round.
But not tonight.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Evening all, and welcome to lurkers!
Today I have
- hoovered the study floor and cleaned the windows again because they were streaky
- moved my desk with all its contents and my chair back into the study bedroom
- did a quick dash to the local CoOp to buy a load of fruit for DH to take to the nurses who've been looking after him at the GP surgery
- sorted out a bit of admin
- slept all afternoon because I'd had a bad night and moving the furniture really took all my strength
- as a result, managed to do the full circuit of our normal walk with Rosie
- watered the pots (a lot of my outdoor tomatoes are beginning to ripen now)
- did an easy tea: cold roast and hot veg
- changed a light bulb in the bathroom
- messaged various people
- watched a couple of "How to run a Zoom meeting" videos so that I'm ready to practise on DH tomorrow before being let loose on the Tots families on Sunday afternoon.
Bed is calling again already! Hope everyone has a good weekend xx8 -
Morning all. Up early with the doggies and because I have a birthday cake to make for DD.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.8 -
Morning xx
Paid stuff - we were all called in to a meeting yesterday to be told that there would be moves but they didn't know who or when and the moves would be temporary (!!!) and they were telling us all together so no-one thought things were being discussed behind people's backs. I think it's called damage limitation lol. I guess someone listened to what I said the day before when I said 'Actually I've had enough now' - no drama or histrionics just a quiet digging in of heels. I'm so not a kicking off sort of person. Anyway I've offered to work from home or to move back to where I came from - MM isn't there anymoreMy current colleague says they won't let me go back as I do a lot for so many people in the building. People come to me because they know that I get things done. She also wants to go wherever I go - which is nice. They're not constantly moving me because no-one wants to work with me lol. I was starting to wonder!!! I mean even MM liked working with me
Anyway - home now and weekend. Woot woot. DS has gone to work and will go straight from there to GF's in pigpen land 'til Monday, so tis just me and Sweetie here. And Weekend Willi is mooching about trying to persuade me that this week's shenanigans have not exhausted me and I do have enough spoons to fly. Hmmm maybe.
I've made my bed, sloshed bleach down the loo and brought down the laundry hamper. First brew has been supped.
Round 1 =

feed the birds

sort washing into loads
set first load swishing

Have a lovely day ladies

Birthday cake made and iced, dogs walked, dailies done. Bedding prepped for overnight visitor and now it's raining, so today's shenanigans will need to be indoors as per Mondays Covid rules as we have one person too many for today's rules of only two households inside. Confused? DH is.Spend less now, work less later.8

Morning all,
Had a lovely lay in, just pottering around the forums now with a cuppa. The kids have done their homework, we were going to get out on a walk but it's raining. I've made the beds and sold a big item on FB marketplace this morning. More rubbish out!Have super Saturdays all xx8 -
Morning all.
Awake early as somebody thought it was a good idea to shut the nearby motorway for weekend roadworks now that there are more cars on the road so traffic is piling through the village.DD has driven to work, thankfully the back roads then weren’t too busy, but on my way home they were getting jammed.
Desperately waiting the Wandering Willi to arrive and give me a kick up the backside. Guess he is held up in traffic 😉.
We have a few friends round for DH’s birthday this evening, just before we would have to cancel as there will be 9 of us. We are sitting outside, so dinner will be early, more like late afternoon tea, or we will all freeze. I’m currently working out seating and spacing logistics and things like separate bread baskets. Thankfully it is only 3 bubbles so not so bad.
Must clean bathroom too. And make some fridge space!
Have a lovely day all. Hugs, sticks and spoons aplenty. Please help yourselves x8 -

Well I fell asleep in my chair last night just after putting the girls to bed.. so I woke up about 10 and went to bed with a supper of a pile of pills. On a plus note I did not require the inhaler at all yesterday and haven't so far yet today .. given I have needed it several times a day for the last few weeks this is major progress.. The downside is, I am having to take double doses of the hayfever medication which makes my lips swell.
The Twinks I made for pack lunches yesterday have all gone, The tiny little scones are so cute though.. I hope they like them.. the recipe was a different one, not my favourite one and they aren't quite up to scratch.. I am thinking savoury muffins might go down well.. They don't like cake so I will have to do a test run. I need some strong bread flour for pizza dough too.. Why they can't just have a sandwich, a packet of shops own crisps and an apple ... the posh (rich) kids got a yoghurt too.. like we did in ye olden days is beyond me.. none of us died.
DW been on a few times, recycling outmaggot bin emptied..
belt changed on the carpet washer but it has no suction so my carpet is now sopping wet.. I have a wet/dry vacuum but it needs a different attachment for washing and I can't find it.
Front door lock changed.. it had broken so it could only be unlocked from the outside.. so much for the 10 years warranty!!
bread and lettuce bought.
ebeast parcels put off until Monday in favour of B&Q and a new lock.
WM x2 and all out and dry and the dry stuff brought in already folded.. no mean feat given Hazel was begging for love and who can say no?
OH and Meem at work until late
I have uniforms to wash and girls to stuff in bed.. How I contain my excitement is beyond me.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)7
