I didn't achieve very much yesterday at all. I just managed to tidy my desk, list two things on the freeshare group and get a box set up for charity donations.
Today is a bit of a catch-all day I think:- Clean bathroom (Essential as I have a friend visiting for lunch)
- Put away clean washing
- Get at least one load of washing done
- Change bed
- Have a quick look over the website for my Masters, which opens today (Eek!) I'm going to be studying with the OU and know from past experience it helps to get ahead a little
Have a good day, folks!10 -
Good morning all,
I will be glad when it's Friday! I've stripped and changed my bed, the washing will be done tomorrow. Pack ups made and kitchen presentable. An easy (& cheap!) dinner of corned beef hash is on the cards, we haven't had it for ages and I'm looking forward to it already.I really struggled at work yesterday I have to admit, wearing a visor and getting teenagers to take you seriously don't mix. We also keep getting email after email from senior staff - all trying to prove they're 'on it' I think to Senior Leadership, draining.Have fab days all x11 -
Gorgeous photos Piggers 😀 When did Twinkle get old enough to go to school..time flies so quick now 😮
Badcat that fireplace looks really good hon.
Just wanted to pop on to say about the photos. I've had a few meltdowns this week for some reason, thank gods I've got a zoom support group meeting today I think i need it.
Nearly backed out of the move to Wales early next year, and told DH move alone... Kept crying at the state of the house as it's an absolute dump with so much crud everywhere.
Plus I'm also too embarrassed to get an estate agent round to value the house as we have hardly decorated since we moved in 20 odd years ago. Still got the same crappy carpets, upstairs, from moving in. Sadly this has all stemmed from a time when DH wouldn't put his hand in his pocket and I was having my two affairs.
My mental and physical health stops me from literally getting a skip and throwing everything away, and i mean everything, which is really what I want to do. Head is telling me this, heart is going through so many emotions. Also I would be doing it alone as Dave can't do it as hes doing his own stuff now he's retired (from this weekend). And im dreading that, loss of money to actually do the decorating etc to make the house sellable.
Thank gods I'm on holiday next week and I'll see my sister.
Oh gods sorry, I only seem to post when things are terrible. Can't seem to do regular posting.. oops!!!Mortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️

Not sure what our plan is today, I had a rubbish nights sleep again and have just sat around not doing much since I got up, well I am on hols I suppose. Anyway, breakfast has been eaten, wm is swishing, time to get myself ready and then see what’s what.

I'm in a similar situation - I'd love to move house and if we looked at moving further out of town then I could possibly move from a flat to an end-terrace or semi-detached, which would be ideal. I moved here 16 years ago, did some light painting and since then very little. I think that to get it to saleable condition I'd need to recarpet entirely, redo the bathroom and decorate both bedrooms and the hall/stairs. I don't have the money for that, so I just hate the house regularly instead
What I'm trying to do is things in my control - my flying list each day this week has included listing things on a local sharing group. If I can get two things out of my house every day for a month then that's up to 62 pieces of clutter gone.
Is there anything basic that could be done? Cheap carpets upstairs? It's amazing how much difference fresh paint in a room does. A lot of people will be looking to put their own stamp on a place anyway.

Morning I was up early and have finished my urgent to do list
I can now start on frogs.
Natty Big hugs. Try to focus on what you will gain from moving x
Fed up of people messaging about items for sale then not replying
I have discovered that garage has booked an all day appointment for my MOT instead of a waiting one and can’t offer a waiting one until after my expiry date. Grrr
24 hours exactly from the time I met DS2 from college, there a bus crashed in to the exact spot I waited. Freaky stuff.

Natty hugs, from one who has moved recently, re estate agents, stick all the 'stuff' into one room as I did, and refuse to let the EA photograph it, let them measure for the floor plan, then I move 'stuff' to suit the photo, made the rooms look bigger, some cushions and a rug make several appearances
in various photos, fresh flowers in a vase on the hearth area, bowl of fruit on the kitchen table or side, I borrowed a rug from a NN, put all junk into draws, cupboards etc, 'stage' bathrooms / shower room, fold / roll towels hotel style, move half bottles out, and such like, it is only for half an hour or so, my house also needed updating but ex hubby refused to pay is half so I left it folk want to put their own stamp on a new home, I hoovered / dusted etc so it was clean, bins empty, etc. You can do this and get the EA in, we are behind you.
If you can pack the extra stuff and store it, lock up, garage, neighbours garage and such like. If you are going to decorate to move out, pick white, again I didn't bother, just clean.Get an EA round to give you advise / estimate etc before decorating / after decorating etc, and negotiate the EA fees do NOT pay more than 1% less if you can get it, read the tie in contract BEFORE you sign itMy new blind is up, just got to put the bobble bits in at the bottom.Shopping done and loads of boring stuff.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

6 ebeast parcels posted, 3 more to package up to post and £354 in paypal (I spent £34 or there would have been more) Shows how much junk there is in my house without it all being worthless!
Children all at school, Moomin goes back tomorrow.. Meem is at work, DS2 at jobcentre.. my boys really need to find a job, lazy dollops that they are! TBF, Boog has applied for loads and absolutely no one calls back, we can't even get him on an apprenticeship it is infuriating.. he follows me around constantly like a toddler.2x WM2x loads hung out2x folded ready to go away

Natty.. I know exactly where you are coming from re the house, and the tragedy of life.. take up and bin the carpets.. bare floors can be covered with a rug or painted or sanded and look ok. TBH, I look at walls and ceilings for signs of water damage when looking at houses, the carpets are binned immediately anyway.. when we moved in here only 2 rooms had carpet and most of the walls were partially stripped or undercoated and everywhere was filthy. Some people can see the potential ineven the most cramped conditions.. Or get some cheap magnolia or white and paint the whole house, one wall at a time.. it can be done.. I did most of my rooms without removing anything from them I just shuffled it all about like giant tetris. My living room carpet is actually worn to the hession, there is nothing at all left of the fibres after 15 years of hard wear. If I could come help, I absolutely would!

School pick up was fun.. it looked like it was about to rain so I dashed outside and brought in 2 piles of dry, folded washing.. went out for the third and put it on the work top, knocked off the fabric conditioner which has had 3 uses out of it and the lid broke spilling FC onto the floor.. so I picked it up, threw a tea towel over the mess on the floor. realised it was all over my hands and feet and right down my front.. wiped off what I could and legged it. Walked too fast and set myself off wheezing.. obviously being outside I remembered I ha only had one dose of hayfever meds today so the pollen hit me... by the time I got to school I had used my inhaler 3 times and couldn't breather or stop coughing... how to achieve social distancing at school... cough up a lung!!
Best do food.. and tomorrows packed lunches.
