Thank you - I hadn't heard of either of these (I'm on a steep learning curve). I'll give eBay a few days to see if they're willing to look into the timing of my 'risky activities' - ie when we had people staying in our house.. Hopefully they will at least grant me that ..liggerz87 said:Couldn't you sar them and also request your data under gdpr sorry not much help0 -
It may be something as simple as an unpaid bill by one of your guests. We may never know, but being proactive with ebay is always better. Make sure you tell them you had guests to stay who are not related or financially connected to you but they did use your wifi during period xyz.dysynni said:This is so helpful, thank you very much. I would never have thought of this. I have messaged eBay to ask them to check whether the 'risky activity' took place during the week that our guests were here. I doubt they will give me any information, but perhaps this might be the key to resolving this situation. Thank you.

In the back of my mind I recall a story perhaps in a newspaper or on the community boards about the owner of a small private hotel who got banned, and it transpired that she had been linked to a couple of different guests who had logged in on the wi fi and therefore in eBay’s eyes were connected to her. There was a conversation, and that suggests it was a forum somewhere , where owners of B and Bs etc were advised to set up 2 entirely separate connections, one for general use , guests staff etc and one just for her, tightly password protected and not shared with anyone.Obviously this is not helpful to the OP at all but it suggests that eBay do link people using the same wi fi.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Both of these last 2 comments are really helpful, thank you so much. I will see if I can get to talk to a real person and try and follow this up with them. I have been told my ban is permanent and cannot be reversed (my daughter's likewise) so I don't hold out much hope that they will change anything. But if nothing else, hopefully other people will learn from my experience through this thread. I WISH I had known a few weeks ago what I know now.0
