Tesco rounding up bills to whole pounds without asking

Tesco garage just rounded up my £4.25 bill by 75p (for a charity) without asking. I don't know what charity. But am too embarrassed to ask for a refund - nobody want's to be seen as being mean. I don't believe Tesco should presume an opt in approach.

I pay the price on the pump at the pump. If it is wrong, the cashier can syphon it back out. End of!0

They're meant to ask so it's probably just been an error. I probably wouldn't ask for a refund but you could still let Tesco know. The money goes to cancer research UK, British heart foundation and diabetes uk.

It was a cashless transaction, nothing to press / select - I saw the total (£5) but didn't realize what they had done till I checked the receipt afterwards0

They posted about this on FB. Meant to be voluntary (it’s supposed to be rounded up to nearest 10p but till the 13th Sept (unsure of exact date) it’s rounded up to nearest pound. Seems to have caught out a lot of people.2

Sorry should have added it’s for charity (Cancer Research U.K., British Heart foundation and Diabetes U.K.).1

I know Fred has been posting some let's say uninformed info, but this is not spam, so whoever reported it as such, not cool dude1

Why are you embarrassed to ask for a refund?
If there is a charge on there that you didn't authorise and you think it is worth your time pursuing then go for it.
The fact it is for charity shouldn't make any difference.
I always decline things like this as I decide which charities I support and when.4
