Blimey it's an icy one this morning. I bailed out of walking the dog this morning. I got to the end of the drive and decided that was enough for me. The OH said it was terrible.
Once we go the car off our estate and onto the main roads it wasn't too bad but the footpaths are lethal.
Hopefully it will melt and improve as the day goes on!
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are from stores today. Breakfast was toast, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is lamb and mint burgers with chips, onion rings and coleslaw.
No jobs to do tonight other than walking the dog. It's a quiet night on the sofa with a few beers and a film.1 -
I live in a village where gritting the roads is quite often a no no. Getting from our road to the main road can be quite a challenge. Fun and games going past the local primary school with some of the parents parking. Once on the main road it’s not too bad.
Hoping for a quiet night myself tonight and hopefully a quiet weekend before a busy week ahead.xx:j Debtfree and and staying that way.:j3-6 month emergency fund, No.61 £140.000 -
The pavements were the same in the city centre this morning. I think the councils concentrate on roads but forget the pavements!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

What a horrible start to the day. It is chucking it down and the wind is freezing. Just been out with the dog and he wasn't best impressed 🥶
Really not got planned for today. We are warming up now with another coffee before I stick a bacon and egg sandwich on.
Need to nip to the farm shop and not much else really. Got the first load of washing on. Will do a load of towels later as well.
Going to hibernate on the sofa and watch a couple of films later. Might make a start on the Christmas present wrapping as well. Got most of them bought now.
Going to stick a curry in the slow cooker for later. Its definitely curry weather.2 -
The few Xmas bits I have managed to buy are all wrapped and put in that safe place, that nearer to the day I struggle to remember. Going to get the rest of the presents this week, then that’s it done and dusted.
would love a good farm shop by where I live. Years ago we had 2 shops not far but they both closed a few months after a supermarket opened in our village. I know they charged abit more but the quality of the food is so much better and I used to buy the food as a treat.xx:j Debtfree and and staying that way.:j3-6 month emergency fund, No.61 £140.000 -
The farm shop we use is great a proper spit and saw dust shop attached to a farm where 90% of the meat is home farmed.
It's only the chicken that they don't raise themselves but that is from a farm a stones throw away.
Prices are pretty much the same as supermarket prices but the quality is so much better.
It's only a few miles down the road from our house as well which is a real bonus.
We are lucky in that respect. Got a farm shop for veggies a similar distance away as well.0 -
What a thoroughly miserable day yesterday was and today has started much the same. The dog took himself off into the garden but was quick to come back in again.
He is having a bath when we have been for a walk. He stinks!
Not much planned for today. More washing and drying I think. Got the Christmas presents wrapped yesterday so that's the bulk of that done now. Just got some small bits and bobs left to do for the dog and the other half.
Thinking a full English breakfast this morning and we have roast chicken later on with all the trimmings.
Might break the monopoly board out this afternoon to keep us occupied 😀1 -
I haven’t played monopoly for years …enjoy. I still have the game my brother bought me when I was a child….must be best part of 60 years old 😱
The ice has just been horrendous hasn’t it 🥶January spends - £587.581 -
My mum banned monopoly from our house when we were growing up. We never finished a game as we always ended up arguing.xx:j Debtfree and and staying that way.:j3-6 month emergency fund, No.61 £140.001
