Time to Face The Music

Managed to not Cave in with the heating last night although it was a close call. 

We have a busy day in store today. Lots of washing and cleaning to do. Got the van bedding in the wash now, that's nearly ready to hang out on the line, then it's the van mats and dogs van fleeces. Need to do our bedding as well and some towels so the washing machine will be busy today.

We need to give the van a good scrub inside and out today. Will give the car a wash while we have the stuff out as well. Then we need to get the gardens tidied up. 

The other half has been to the shops already for the beer stock up.  Just having a coffee and then we will take the dog out for a walk and get breakfast when we get back. Beans on toast this morning for something quick and easy.

Going to stick a curry in the slow cooker for later. Chicken saag masala tonight with pilau rice and vegetable samosa. 

Right, back too it!

Yesterday was a super busy day but we managed to get everything done we needed too so today is going to be a much quieter day.

Just having coffee and then we will go and walk the dog before breakfast. Scrambled eggs on toast this morning.

Need to get a load of washing done and hung out to hopefully dry before the rain that's forecast arrives. It was a great drying day yesterday, got four loads washed and dried 😀

Think we are going for a long walk to Scofton after breakfast. Not done that walk for ages. Will take a flask of coffee for a mid walk brew. 

Not got much else planned. Might start some holiday packing this afternoon. Oh and the dog needs his holiday bath as well.

Going to do a venison casserole in Yorkshire pudding later for dinner. No roast this week.

The weather forecast looked a bit iffy for the walk to Scofton so we went to the local NT park instead.



They were definitely getting into the autumn theme.

No sooner had we got back in the car the heavens opened. We went to the garden centre afterwards.

The dog is absolutely shattered now and tucked up in bed.

Back to work today. Short week this week.

Breakfast and lunch are from stores today. Breakfast was cereals and we have both taken our packed lunches to work.

We have to drive down to somewhere near Nottingham tonight after work to pick up the dogs Animal Health Certificate ready for going away. Our vets wanted £240 this year. These guys are doing it for £100 so it is well worth the drive down for the saving. It does mean we will be late home though so we are picking up a chicken wrap on the way home.

It felt like a long night last night, we were all shattered by the time we got home. All of the paperwork is sorted now though. The ladies were lovely and will do next years certificate cheaper because they have our details on file now. So assuming we don't have any problems at the border, which I don't expect we will then we will certainly use them again. They were very knowledgeable, unlike our own vet!!

Back to today. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are from stores today. Breakfast was cereals, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is peri peri sausages with root veg mash and greens.

Tonight's jobs are:

• walking the dog
• van top up shop
• cleaning the kitchen
• starting to pack some clothing (really regretting not doing this at the weekend now!)

Glad you got the certificate sorted at a good price. I always put off packing for a holiday, I don't know why as it's not exactly a nasty job 😆 Not long to go for you now, how exciting.

Not sure why but the traffic was very light on the way into work this morning.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are from stores today. Breakfast was cereals, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is harissa chicken with rice and vegetables.

Tonight's jobs are:

• walking the dog
• weigh in Wednesday
• picking up some Euros
• vacuuming the house 
• cleaning the bathrooms
• load of washing
• plugging in the van and turning on the fridge
• last minute packing

A busy night tonight. Will be glad of a sit down when that little lot is finished!

Last day of work today. I know you shouldn't wish your life away but the next 7.5 hours can't go quickly enough!

Breakfast and lunch are from stores today. Toast and packed lunches respectively. Dinner tonight is a pub lunch at the place we are stopping in the van.

The van is all packed up and ready to go. We literally need to finish work, go home, grab a quick shower and hit the road.
