Without wanting to sound like a sad lorry spotter it was awesome to watch and we saw it at one of the easier parts of the route.

Those guys know how to drive that's for sure!

Won't be too long before the next one. Hope we are around to see it.

@RelievedSheff I know what you mean it is fascinating. I imagine they are fairly regular sites around your way?

These particular ones are for the foreseeable future. Local Worksop company has the contract to supply Brazil with this type of underwater cable.

Think it's one 500t reel every 8 weeks or so at the minute.

Nice to see a local Company get such a big contract. Guess it's expensive cable given the size of the operation to get it from here to Goole and onto a ship.

I love hearing of smaller local companies winning contracts like that. Actually made me smile after an awful night’s sleep.

Back to work again today. Only two weeks left before we go away.

£98 sent to the energy company this morning.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are from stores today. Breakfast was cereals, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is pulled pork wraps made with the leftovers from yesterdays dinner.

    Tonight's jobs are:
    • walking the dog
    • weekly shop
    • load of washing

I am finding myself getting drawn in by the fascination of abnormal loads! I'd be videoing it... then waste my data showing the video to people. :) I wonder how the drivers get enough experience...

It's always much easier to get up and about when the sun is shining. It was rather pleasant walking the dog this morning.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are from stores today. Breakfast was cereals, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is venison sausage with root veg mash and greens.

Even quite basic AbLoads take a huge a lot of planning - there are also all sorts of rules about when they can travel, when they need an escort, and that sort of thing. Then of course it also has to work around the driver's hours limits and that sort of thing. Very involved, very fascinating, but I definitely wouldn't like to do it for anything as big as those!

You've been getting to some cracking places in the van of late - that abandoned mine looked fantastic!
