Welcome home, glad you had such a great trip.  That's pretty good mpg for a motorhome.  We're lucky if we get 25mpg - but then again ours is a heavier and older model!

The problem with coming back is it means it's nearly time to go back to work!  So glad we don't have that any more!

25mpg is what we usually expect to get. A bit of a bonus to get a bit extra.

Don't mention the W word. Not looking forward to getting up in the morning!

It has been an amazing trip.

Just totted up what it has cost for 17 nights away and it has been so cheap compared to a holiday in the UK even taking into account tunnel costs and pet costs.

It is such easy motorhoming as well. Everywhere is set up for mororhomes. 50% of the aires we used were free and the rest were cheap. Most we paid was €16 a night and that was like a UK campsite.

We will definitely be going back next year for our two weeks trip.

You certainly notice the difference with motorhoming in France compared to the UK don't you?  Like you say it's so easy over there.  It's just set up so well for motorhomes.

Germany is similar with their Stellplatz but definitely not as cheap but well worth doing sometime.  It's especially good along the Mosel for the wine festivals in September if you like wine at all!

I will admit my first week back at work wasn’t as bad as I thought. I just think of it as a means to pay for my next holiday then it doesn’t seem so bad 😆
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

I shall hold into that thought today 🤣🤣🤣
  • At the risk of jinxing it, the first day back at work isn't going too badly. Not as busy or hectic as expected.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will ne from stores today. Breakfast was a bacon and black pudding sandwich, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is chicken, chorizo and mushroom pie with chips and vegetables which should use up some bits we brought back with us.

    Tonight's jobs are:
    • walking the dog
    • weekly shop
    • load of washing (can finally see the bottom of the pile!!)
Now that we are back I have increased our mortgage overpayment to £206 per month and have returned the credit card repayment to £300 per month.
