We were sad to learn last night that the landlord and landlady here are calling it a day this summer.

For as long as we have been coming here they have been a brilliant team.

We have been reliably informed that the new custodians are keen to keep the motorhome stop overs.

We intend to come back before they call it a day.

It is hangovers all round here after a brilliant night. We don't have to rush off today which is just as well so it will be a long dog walk after a coffee when we manage to peel ourselves out of bed.

No signs of life from the dog yet either. He is out for the count 🤣🤣🤣

Thinking we will have toast for breakfast and dinner later is goat shoulder and all the trimmings.

Some pub karaoke singers are brilliant. One from a local pub ended up in The Voice finals last year. Hope you have a good time 🍻
There was one Chap last night who was brilliant. The rest not so much but at least that meant I wasn't the worst singer there.

Is this the pie pub you mention or a different one? Knew it wouldn’t have been a quiet one for you though!

No this is a different pub. Only about half an hour from home. It is a fantastic village. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming.

We had a quiet one on Friday night but last night was anything but quiet. Giving it plenty of time before we drive home today!

We are back home again now. The van is tucked up on the drive again. We have drained the water system down properly this time as we won't be using it for a few weeks now and it's forecast to drop colder again. It will need a vacuum out and quick wipe around before we go away at the end of the month but that can be done one weekend. No rush.

The dog is now shattered. He is fast asleep in bed. We took him for a run with his ball on the playing field when we got back. He loves that.

It's a beautiful day out but deceptively chilly. Just stuck the heating on to warm us up.

I'm going to prep dinner shortly. Just working myself up too it. Everything seems like too much effort today 🤣🤣🤣

Ha does sound like you had a bit too much of a good time.

Our dog doesn’t play fetch very well, will retrieve a ball about three times and then decide he’s bored and not bringing it back or bored and drops it. He’s the worst gun dog ever ha.

Ours would play fetch with a ball all day if we let him.

We have to limit how long he plays with it because he doesn't know when enough is enough. He quite literally runs himself ragged.

We have not played ball with him for a while so I expect he will wake up with achey legs when he finally surfaces from his bed this evening.

Definitely too good a time had by all. It was funny in the car park this morning as all of the campers were out and about with wholly heads 🤣🤣🤣

An early night tonight and we will be ready for work tomorrow. Definitely no alcohol today. I think I had my monthly allowance last night!

One of my son’s school friends has a dog like that.

Haha good to hear you enjoyed yourselves those days are well in the past for me but definitely have some good memories. Just avoid fun now.

Not a no spends day today. We have been for diesel in the car and I need to go and do the weekly shop after work tonight.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. Breakfast was a sausage and egg sandwich to use up some leftovers from the weekend, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is cajun goat and grilled vegetable wraps to use up the leftover meat from yesterday's roast dinner.

    Tonight's jobs are:
    • walking the dog
    • shopping
    • load of washing
It is a lovely sunny morning here. Wasn't expecting to have to deice the car this morning though.

I enjoy watching a you tube channel of a couple similar to yourselves who have a motor home and do a lot of pub stopovers in it. They have a couple of dogs and usually do a walk first then go to the pub for a meal. Channel,is called The Slaws. I do think if we had a motor home instead of a caravan we would be away a lot more than we do. Xx
