So we are up and awake. Just having a quick coffee and will give the dog a quick walk then it is time to get the van out and set off.

I don't think it will be an overly spendy day today. We will be mostly travelling.

We are calling to McDonald's for breakfast and dinner later is a fish pie I made yesterday. We will propose grab something quick for lunch on the go.

Ferry is booked for 2.20pm, we have to be there about an hour before. So we have plenty of time to get down there and time for a walk and stretch our legs before getting on the ferry, assuming the traffic behaves itself!

It's been a long day. Traffic was fine until we hit Portsmouth when it came to a complete standstill for the last few miles!

We arrived a couple of hours early for our ferry, missed the car park we had aimed for and ended up in the ferry terminal. They squeezed us onto an early ferry so luckily for us we gained a couple of hours on the island 😃

Our first stopover was 6 minutes from the ferry terminal so we settled in early and found the local pub.

    Beautiful spot.

now back at the van having a couple of beers. Don't think it will be a late night tonight!

Portsmouth is often choc a bloc and the port is a nightmare for finding things I believe. Mr LH got lost there too. Good that you got the earlier ferry and arrived early.

A change of plan for today. It tuns out someone who is on the same small Facebook group (for Sealine owners who have turned to motorhomes) is also on the island so it would be a shame not to meet up while we are both here. So we are heading to The Needles to meet up with them for a few hours, then we will head back to our intended destination of Ryde.

It could be quite a spebdy day today.

Breakfast is from stores, a full English and we have a roast duck Sunday dinner later on.

The dog is shattered. He had a busy day yesterday. He is enjoying himself though which is the main thing.

We have had a really nice day today.

    Firstly at the Needles.

We had a really nice time meeting up with who I am sure will become good friends. We need to meet up with them again soon.

We changed our overnight planned stop to be Fort Victoria instead rather than driving all the way back across the island. It is rather lovely here as well. Sadly no view from the van today, The sea view parking spots have been taken already.
