Meant to say your mate with the boat haha sort of thing I’d do that is fml. Don’t let him tempt you to buy another one stick with the van - cheaper and can go to more places.
No way are we getting another boat. He's got a narrowboat anyway. Not our cup of tea.

Going to have a look at it on Tuesday see what he has bought. It's a bit of a project from what we can gather, completely different to their last boat which was lovely.

The weather has been really foggy here since last Thursday. I just got back from taking the dog on the park across the road and you couldn’t see a thing. So muddy as well.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

That’s my kind of food. Could eat that everyday. Nothing fancy . As we were at DS’s yesterday we haven’t any leftover meats like we usually do. X

We still have loads left 🤣🤣🤣

Tonight's bake is sorted. Got a couple of portions sliced in the freezer to take away with us to have a similar pick and mix dinner, a portion for the obligatory turkey curry tomorrow and a big portion in the freezer for a quick simple dinner at some point.

I cooked for 8 yesterday and sent 4 home with 2nd lunches for today. We have had leftovers all day ( I did 3 joints as not all that keen on turkey) and I made a turkey and veg soup which, by the time I diluted its thickness to the right consistency, had increased to about a gallon!! Some for freezer and will take a couple of portions to couple of elderly neighbours who don't like big meals but love home made soup.

Your cheese and meat spread looks lovely. We haven't even opened the cheese yet although the Stilton, which had already travelled long distance, is starting to pong the fridge out despite triple wrapping.

I'll save the 'we'll never ever buy a boat again...' for when you do lol. Can't say I get the narrowboats either not that I know anything about them so could be good fro all I know ha.

Your dog cracks me up this time for being on that canon fml haha. We had a similar meat and cheese lunch (and dinner ha). Mrs took the dog and boy for a big walk.

@warby68 my Mrs sent our guests home with meat too ha. Turkey and veg soup that brings some memories of childhood Christmas back. If we have blue stilton, it goes in the cellar refuse to have it in my fridge wife thought it was odd but was thankful first Christmas we were given some.

Good morning all. Aiming for a no spends day today.

Breakfast and dinner are from stores. Breakfast is smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on toast and dinner later is turkey madras with pilau rice, vegetable samosa and naan bread.

We need to start getting the van ready to go away today. Going to plug it in and turn on the fridge and wash the bedding. Need to go through the food cupboard and see what we have/haven't got in there as well.

Not got much else planned. We need to take the dog for a good walk. Not sure where today. Depends on the weather really. Might crack the board games out this afternoon as well.

Food sounds amazing as always woke up with an appetite today ha.

Always think that van sounds as much a chore getting everything ready as it is a break lol.

Much less of a chore than the boat was!
