@RelievedSheff haha in a lot of ways from what you’ve written on here the van sounds more fun - more possibilities to go to different places with greater ease? Remember thinking you must have gone somewhere !!!!!! amazing on that boat when I first joined up here and it turned out you came down from Worksop to Nottingham and it took 2 !!!!!! weeks lol.

    🤣🤣🤣

You get nowhere fast on a boat.

Still getting used to travel times being in hours rather than days 😆

Not quite a no spends day we had to head to a camping shop to get a new electric cable for the van. Somehow ours has got damaged and it needs replacing.

Luckily the voucher I got with my hamper from work could be spent there so we have used that. We also picked up a new serving bowl and a couple of bottles of toilet fluid while we were there. So spent just under £10.

While we were in that neck of the woods we took the dog for a very muddy walk in a local nature reserve. He was filthy when we got back to the car.

The dog has had a hose down when he got home. He has had his dinner and gone to bed now. Don't think he will be any trouble now today.

Van bedding has just gone in the wash. The dryer is playing up again so we are hoping it will dry. If not it has time to dry in the spare bathroom and I will need to put a load of clothes in straight afterwards to give them time to dry.

The other half is going to disassemble the damaged electric cable for the van and shorten it to make one for when it is parked up at home. So it won't go to waste 😀

Really hope the weather picks up for your trip in the van mate. It's been awful here too had a similar kind of walk but not quite so bad with our dog and son who's still amused by jumping in puddles some days I can't help but think it's a good !!!!!! job I pay for his education, love him to bits but there are times I think that lad needs every !!!!!! head start going lol.

Laid in bed listening to the rain hammering on the roof so I don't think the weather has improved today 🤣🤣🤣

We have a fairly busy day in store so we will have to make the most of it though.

Breakfast and dinner will be from stores. Beans on toast for breakfast and haggis with root veg mash and vegetables for dinner later. We are done with leftovers for a little while.

We need to pull the van out of the drive this morning and refill the water system and bleed it through after draining it down. Shouldn't take too long hopefully. Then I need to put the bedding back on (the dryer didn't dry this last night!) And load up the food, drink and clothes and give it one last wipe out, before putting it away ready to set off in the morning.

Aside from dealing with the van we are going to see out friends new boat. We will give the dog a decent walk while we are there.

And we need to clean the house and I have a lasagne to make for tomorrow evenings dinner as well. So a busy day in store. Hope this rain stops soon.

If it was colder all this rain would be snow, at least that’s one thing to be thankful for. How exciting getting the van ready for another trip.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

We are both getting a bit excited about going away. We are like kids 😃

Seems to have been a long time since we last had the van out.

Both taken a LFT this morning and thankfully both negative.

The van is now sorted. Bleeding the water system took longer than expected. It would not bleed through. That's one thing that never took long on the boat.

We went to see our friends new boat. It is a project that's for sure. But it will keep him happy tinkering with it and upgrading it.

We had a walk around while we were there. The weather wasn't very inspiring though.

We have now got the van pretty much loaded up. Just a couple of last minute bits to pack later. Lasagne is made ready for a quick dinner tomorrow just need to transfer it to the van later.

The dog is very over excited today because we have been sorting the van out. 😀
