We figured you only get the one shot at life so we may as well live it while we are fit and healthy enough to enjoy it.
We could have put our efforts into paying down our debts more quickly but we don't want to look back later in life and regret not getting out there while we could.
The aim is still to have all of the credit cards paid off and the motorhome HP loan paid off before we remortgage again in 2026 which we reckon should be achievable.1 -
I think you have it spot on. Its changing the habits and the direction of travel far more than the speed. Extremes are hard to live with as well for anything more than a short period.
One thought I did have, and its more like a bit of disaster scenario planning is that you might like to consider building up some savings alongside the 0% debt so you start having some reserves. You can always pay off the debt with it if the 0% dries up for any reason. However If something like job loss or health hits you could make an arrangement for whatever debt is left but would also have a little on one side as well. Just a thought.
I can't believe your dog's name on his harness either. So funny. I'd love to know his real name (unless that's actually it eek)2 -

We are planning to start putting away the £250 a month once the car HP loan is paid off in February. We will start putting this into a savings account and use it for general costs associated with running the vehicles, with hopefully a bit left over each year to start building up a bit of a rainy day fund.
We do need to get into the habit of starting to save properly now that the balances are coming down and being paid off otherwise the money will just get lost in general day to day spending.2 -
Sydney suits him 👍😂👍January spends - £587.582
