Husband usually stays elsewhere when he's out with mates. As we're a bit off the beaten track from the favourite pubs we don't often play host. Win win for me. He's hard work when he's had plenty, much nicer when he comes back with lunch the morning after.

I can vote for enjoying the peace (and the remote control, and the odd quiet drink of your own, and a good sleep )

Actually Alt you are sounding almost scarily sensible 😂😂😂.  Joking aside staying away from anyone who might partake of other substances is really important. I hope your wife enjoys her night out. You can be incredibly smug tomorrow if she is hungover too.

Hope you are enjoying your quiet night in. On a separate note how on earth do I get from Sheffield train station to Hackenthorpe? Do you know where it is? Need to go for my cousin’s funeral.

SA Rome to Rio is suggesting a number of buses and a tram (23/24 minutes) but without knowing your exact end destination I would suggest a taxi which is 10 minutes and £13 to £16. Maybe if you put the exact end location in Rome to Rio you will find a bus with the correct route and time and cheaper fare

Thanks, my other cousin has said if I can get a taxi to the church someone will give me a lift to the cemetery, wake venue and back to the train  station for the return journey.

Hope you had a nice evening @RelievedSheff

@maggiem I just want to stay safe and sane maybe it is scarily sensible haha tbh that feels like a compliment. She’s out tomorrow, not tonight that’s Sheff’s oh. I’ve got my plan for homemade pizza, big hot chocolate and a Christmas film with my boy and my dog. No choc for the dog though plenty of gravy bones ha.

A taxi is probably your best bet. Unless you fancy a tour of Sheffield by bus and tram?

Me and the dog had a lovely evening thank you. He kept going and looking at the door for his dad but he got the idea by bedtime.

We had some lovely dinner and watched a film and some TV before having an early night. We have both slept really well.

It might be a no spends day today. Depends what time the other half gets back and what state he is in 🤣🤣🤣

Checked the online banking this morning and he has come in well under his budget.

Breakfast for me this morning will be eggy bread, soup for lunch and dinner tonight is ox tail madras with pilau rice, samosa, onion bhaji and naan bread.

I will take the dog out for a walk this morning and then if the other half is up to it we will take him out again locally this afternoon.
