I am hoping to make a decent overpayment on Card 3 at the end of the month to bring that balance down even further. We are going to throw what we can at Card 3 to get it gone ASAP but without leaving ourselves short. We still need to live a littleSun_Addict said:Card 3 coming down nicely now. Today’s menu sounds good. In fact my breakfast and lunch are the same as yours today 😁

We are hoping to have that card gone before August by making overpayments as well as our regular £500 per month payment. We hope to have that card paid off by the time my CCJ drops off my credit file and I balance transfer Cards 4 and 5.enthusiasticsaver said:All looking good on the debt side RS. Glad you can really make some impact on the expensive CC3 now. Hopefully that should be gone by August.

Good plan. I bet you are looking forward to the day you no longer have to pay over £1k a month to debt repayment or are you trying not to look too far ahead?RelievedSheff said:

@RelievedSheff you’re smashing it well done. Card 3 finished in August, CCJ off and remo complete. You’re going to be saving a lot. Have you worked out where you’ll be within months on the repayment side? Or keeping the amounts the same to !!!!!! it off quicker. That haddock and leek bake sounds amazing. Haha food envy again. Meant to be having salmon, sweet potato and peas this evening no sauce though. I’m going to do a kleftiko at the weekend keep me out of trouble. On the subject of that - do you get any fruit from your olive tree wouldn’t have thought you would in Notts?? My dad is !!!!!! obsessed with his olive trees but they do get fruit lol.3

Not really looked too far ahead with the payments to be honest. Just working away at the balances on a card at a time and then working out what to do next as and when a balance is cleared. The aim will be to balance transfer the two bigger balances in July and aim to set the repayment to clear the balance by the end of the 0% rate. That should free up some money, from a quick guess it would free up about £400 per month. Although at some point we will be borrowing some money for the van which will probably be about £400 per month!alt80 said:@RelievedSheff you’re smashing it well done. The olives are only young trees. They were only planted in 2019 when we moved here. They did flower last year but we didn't get any fruit from them. I don't think they will fruit here to be honest. But they do seem to enjoy their nice sunny spot on the front of the house.3 -
@alt80 if you're doing kleftiko, I'm coming round, actually we'll all come round. Scary or what?
@RelievedSheff all under control and sub £18k round the corner
Can take or leave haddock so happy with my garlic, honey &lemon chicken today although its still menu envy most days. We had chorizo and mozzarella flatbreads last night and tomorrow will be stuffed meatballs & rice. Just to return the inspiration, not that you need any. We also went all retro this week with egg and chips. It was homemade oven chips as we don't do deep frying but fried eggs with crispy bottoms all round. Easiest meal but probably will be the one enjoyed the most. 4 -
Sometimes the simplest meals are the best. Not had egg and chips for a long time.warby68 said:@alt80 if you're doing kleftiko, I'm coming round, actually we'll all come round. Scary or what?

We don't deep fry either but we do have an air fryer which we love.3 -
Yes I have one of those and alternate for chips - both different results but equally good. One of the healthier options that doesn't feel like deprivation!4

@alt80 my olive tree bears fruit. Full of tiny olives last year. Plus a lemon tree that bears edible lemons. We have a sheltered south-facing garden though. Not sure if I’d eat the olives as I prefer mine pitted and pimiento stuffed, can’t be doing with stones 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4
