Just this winter @Baileys_Babe - we only got the greenhouse last autumn. We usually wrap the olive, lemon and palm trees up and put them in a covered outdoor area for winter.

Our olives just stay in their pots by the front door all winter. We didn't wrap them or do anything special with them.

The front of the house is south facing though which probably helps them a bit.

We had olive trees when we lived in the south we never protected them in the winter and they did well. We are now in Yorkshire at the top of a hill and exposed so not a good place for them. A greenhouse wouldn't be suitable either.

It should be a no spends day today.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. Breakfast was tomato and red leicester hot cross buns, the other half has taken his packed lunch to work, I am having lentil and chick pea dahl for my lunch and dinner tonight is a vegetable, mozzarella pesto quiche with sweet potato wedges and vegetables.

    Today's jobs include:
    • working from home
    • vacuuming the house
    • dusting the house
    • tidying up the herb garden
    • walking the dog x 2
We had a nice surprise when we got up this morning. The outboard engine has bid up way more than we expected to get for it. The auction doesn't finish until Sunday afternoon. We would be happy if it didn't bid up anymore from what it is now.

Looking forward to a few beers tonight on the sofa with a couple of films. It seems to have been a busy work week this week. Looking forward to a couple of days off over Easter now. Not that we will be going anywhere mind.

Brilliant news about the engine. What are the savoury hot cross buns like, they seem to be a new thing this year?

They were nice. Not something we have had before. We both said we prefer sweet ones though. Got some apple and cinnamon ones to try out next week.

Excellent news re the engine - anymore now is just a bonus.

You just made me look at my calendar worried it was easter already and I'd lost the plot completely ha.

No, but it seems to me it is ridiculously early this year. A fortnight today is Good Friday!
