Ha in that case, yeah I understand. Thought you were more sensible than me mate. My case spent yesterday never mind tomorrow lol. Some of the reason I keep earnings back in retained and buy units tbh - know I really would have nothing if I didn’t. Can’t keep away from the debt life I can’t. 😆1

We are rubbish with money. Always have been.
Shameful to say but this is the first time we have actually had any savings put aside.
We are trying to be more sensible though. And we will have to temporarily tighten our belts a little when we get the van until a couple of debts are paid off, namely Card 3 and the existing HP Loan. Both of which will be paid off by this time next year. Luckily getting more than we expected for the boat will mean we have to borrow less against the van.1 -
I understand that too and have never had problem debt.
I would never buy something if the correct 'pot' hadn't been filled even if there was unused money elsewhere. Part of discipline I think and resisting temptation as well as always having something in reserve. Its the reverse side of the same coin.
Might not make the maximum ££ sense but if it keeps your overall money habits in better check then probably wise for you.
No doubt if the cost saving was more than a few hundred or your position tighter you'd reconsider and give your spending hand a harder slap if you had toWell, maybe....

Both logical and sensible ☺Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
79.5 coupons rolled over 4/75.5 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases

@RelievedSheff I’m older than you still not got any savings ha. Probably never really will have any money in my wallet tbh safer in company for me lol.Discipline re temptation definitely difficult some days think I’ve got it sorted but some days hardest thing in the world ha. You know what you want to buy just a bit of a waiting game. The sensible ones on here @warby68 will keep you on the straight and narrow if you think about straying haha.2

We will have the refund from the Easter holiday that isn't going to happen to spend. We can go shed and TV shopping to keep us occupied when the shops are open again. Hopefully won't be too long after that we can start van shopping.2 -
@RelievedSheff you’ll be fine 100 got the belief in you. Tbh I think you are quite sensible but probably doesn’t mean a lot haha.2

I think you’ve got the right idea with the boat money and to keep it separate. You’ve already got a plan in place for the debts. Time is still on your side to build up a healthy savings pot.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

£17 paid off the furniture loan today. I am hoping to make a decent over payment on this account again later in the month.
It is going to be quite a spendy day today. We have the boiler service booked in for this morning and they are replacing a part in the boiler that has become noisy. The boiler is still under warranty so we will be claiming the costs of the repair back from the developers, who will then no doubt claim it back from the original installers. So we should only have to stand to the cost of the service. No doubt getting the money back for the repair will not be as straight forward as it should be!
Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. Breakfast was toast, the other half has taken his packed lunch to work, I am having a sandwich for my lunch and dinner tonight is fish pie with a sweet potato and parsnip mash topping with vegetables.
Todays jobs include:- working from home
- vacuuming the house
- dusting the house
- writing some more of the boat user manual
- walking the dog x 2
