Happy Birthday - nothing like a midweek steak plus trimmings to mark the occasion
Even if we can't go out for it. 3 -

It is just the same as a holiday home. We now have double of everything in the house. Need to get the van now to load some of the stuff into it and get it out of the house!
The other half said he was a bit sad yesterday when he was unloading the gear from the boat. The sun was shining, the red arrows were practicing overhead and it was just a perfect boating day. It will be a sad day when it is sold and taken away, we have had 13 years of very happy memories on that little boat. But we have done everything that we wanted to do with the boat now and it makes no financial sense to keep it to do a few miles a year. Fingers crossed we can get rid of is before the moorings and licence are up for renewal in May.4 -

Haha you’re impatient for the new toy lol. Thought that was reserved for me on here ha.My wife would love a holiday home. Her way would never move from res home and have a holiday home somewhere. I’m ok with that but know she wouldn’t be happy with me renting it out so would basically just be a drain and hardly used - as you’re sure I’m aware I tend to have 1/2 hols a year 1wk ideally but she sometimes persuades me to do 2.
13 years is a long time bet it’ll be a sad day for both of you when gone onwards and upwards though.3 -
We are definitely looking forward to getting the van. But realistically we won't be getting that until later in the year anyway. Not taking on anymore finance until the remortgage has gone through. So that is May at least and we will get much better rates with the CCJ gone off my file as well, which takes it to July.alt80 said:Haha you’re impatient for the new toy lol. We usually manage to get away (or at least have time of work) for six weeks a year by working our holidays around bank holidays. We usually have a week at Easter, a two week break in the summer, a week in September or October and then a couple of weeks over Christmas. Breaks the year up nicely.
I have just cancelled my annual leave I had taken over Easter. We certainly won't be going on holiday then so we may as well keep the annual leave for later in the year.3 -
Happy Birthday and I agree it makes sense to get rid of the boat if you don't use it as much now. Goodness knows when we will be able to do holidays again though.

Running the numbers we should be able to keep up the same repayments on the credit cards and pay for the motorhome HP loan. It will be tight for a short while until the HP is paid off on the car but we know that and if it does become a bit too tight then there are parts of the budget that we can cut back on in the short term.enthusiasticsaver said:Happy Birthday and I agree it makes sense to get rid of the boat if you don't use it as much now.
