The press in Plymouth reported that 30 students from there returned from Zante a couple of weeks ago and 11 subsequently tested positive. I fear this latest story will push Greece into the 'do not travel' arena later this week, its infection rate is 28.85, well over the supposed limit of 20. Poor Portugal has reached 36 so without a miracle in the next 48 hours it is almost certainly off sale again.
Portugal is 22, not 36. They look at the 7 day rate, not the 14 day one.

The figure I have seen is 14. something.  Where did you get your figure from?

Those that are too stupid to know how to wear a mask properly should have been kicked off the flight ... landing the plane optional.
I don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!

He is looking at the wrong figures, I have now provided him with the correct link a couple of posts back.

"One thing for sure, I'm sure TUI will have their house in order after the kicking they're getting in the press."
Oh, to be a fly on the wall when the cabin manageress/manager is asked by TUI top brass to comment on passenger reports alleging lack of observence of rules as highlighted in the media !!!
Have TUI head office issued a statement ?
  • No, but everyone on the weekly Zante flight getting back into Cardiff in a couple of hours are going to be asked to stay at home for 14 days.

I suppose all they can do is ask as legally there is nothing to force them.

A (single) passenger on a TUI flight from Zante into Glasgow has tested positive for C-19.  Flight was a couple of days before the Cardiff one.

Its likely these passengers won't have contracted it onboard the Zante-UK flights, I wonder if where they stayed and visited whilst in Zante is being looked into?

There's also the chance it is all coincidental.

    And...

Travel company Tui has cancelled all holidays to a party resort on a Greek island because of customers failing to follow coronavirus safety measures.

Tui said it would no longer be offering trips to the resort of Laganas, on Zante, from Thursday.

    More importantly:

Quarantine restrictions will be imposed on people travelling from Greece to Scotland, the Scottish government has announced.

They will be required to isolate for 14 days if they arrive in Scotland after 04:00 on Thursday.

Ministers said they have taken the move due to a "significant rise" in cases of Covid-19 being brought into Scotland from people who have been to Greece.

It has been linked to travellers returning from the Greek islands.

As a result the country has been being removed from the "travel corridor" exemption list on public health grounds.

Maybe England will follow suit tomorrow.

An exec from TUI was on TV this morning.  Basically said that there is a limit to what cabin crew can do, and that they are probably less aware of issues currently because they stay out of the main cabin area as much as possible.
