Why not prepare something in advance so that all that is needed is to warm it up?0

The fact that people then proceed to tell her when she should or should not start to wean her child makes it completely understandable if she decides not to return to this forum.
Like I said, if she'd been upfront and just asked for advice on how to get a refund after changing her mind, people wouldn't have wasted their time trying to help her to enjoy the holiday.3 -
100% agree - the reason people come across as unhelpful or trying to pick holes in “stories” is to try and get to the actual crux of the problem/question rather than wasting days being drip fed irrelevant information and then the OP having a strop with not liking the tone or questions or answers4
-
Just one of many threads where the OP doesn't get the answers they wanted, so goes away in a huff.

despite her strop she is still around.0

I agree these are unreasonable changes. Even a hostel wouldn't have check in restrictions as bad as that. It may be they feel that is necessary but its not what you pay for when you are booking for a cottage so in my view you should be entitled to a refund.Unfortunately since they have refused it sounds like you either have to put up with it and put it down to one of those things that happens because of a global pandemic (lots of people will be worse of than you) or you tell them they are in breach of contract, don't go and see whether you can claim the money back via credit card or small claims court depending on how you have paid.0
-
Ha right, good luck with that.0

As much as she has added in a lot of waffle about her personal circumstances I'm not sure "you can cook a hot meal after 7pm" would be that relevant to breach of contract either. The fact is she paid for a service for 19.5 hours then is being told the week before hand we can only give you it for 14.5 hours.0

The T&cs made no mention of check in and check out times (if I recall) -they have paid for x nights and the property is still available for x nights so the change is NOT unreasonable or a breach of contract
If they were getting less nights than they booked for , then Your analogy would be correct - but they aren’t, so it isnt0 -
It doesn't matter if the check in and check in times are in the terms and conditions. If a hotel or any service is advertised per X to Y that is still part of the contract. I'd be interested to know how you think it is not a breach of contract? Night, day, afternoon, morning, week, month, annual, biannual is always a vague term in contract and is clarified by dates or time.
