NST September 2020: the turtles do the Hokey Cokey

Hi, can I come back to the turtle gang? I went missing during lockdown as I was feeling like every day was the same, and struggled to keep posting. School has been back a couple of weeks, I'm back to work full time and I need to get some routine/control of my bank account/reorganisation of my house! I am hoping posting daily will keep me on the straight and narrow. Not sure I can promise a daily hokey-cokey but if I get DD involved it could happen.

I guess I should set out my September Hokey Cokey stall:Routine: I start a brand new routine, with dd + I both going back to school after a 5+ month break. I am currently in the habit of getting up fairly early and doing a workout, but I'll not have time for that on 3 days, so need to be realistic in what I try to do. And definitely less utube... Nuff said!Active: need to re-time the workouts and exercise. I have started doing 30 days of Yoga with Adriene and would like to finish it in Sept (will have about 25 days still to do, so I'm not very far ahead!). My step count should really increase from its paltry current level...Eating: I did get much better with this over the summer. But a couple of days of stuffing cake down my neck one weekend in mid-August threw me off course for quite a while! So I want to simply eat more veg and drink more water.Me-time: Daily meditation and reading need to happen. Gym time is soothing too.Budget: it's looking good. We were living simply and we are living even more simply now. We have money to do things to the house that need doing, so must get a wiggle on and actually do them.Planning: with dh's 3 grown-up kids living in Canada or Oz, and having 2 grandsons from them, planning ahead is a must, to avoid just sending them some money... With some friends, we already go out for a meal at some point instead of presents. I'm sure dd will start a list on the fridge door very soon...NSDs - no reason not to get the target, so I'm opting in for 15.Schedule: currently not v busy but dd's clubs are opening up. In sept I want to establish a gym schedule that is sustainable. If care homes open up again then I must go and see mum.Life admin: this is my big ugly frog... Not health stuff. Retirement stuff.Stuff: we are s l o w l y whittling away at this and not shopping for 5 months apart from for necessities has been good. Very good. Will continue using up and discarding what is not being used.Gratitude: I am aware that I have a really comfortable life and I never want to lose that perspective.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!7

Hello
Thanks for organising the challenge, Apple
Might have to pass on the knees bend. I'd never be able to get up again but definitely more walking (I say this every month but I really, really need to get back into it. I've done virtually no exercise during lockdown and it shows!. I have started to eat better in the last couple of weeks and I want to keep that up. Could do with cutting down on the screen time - think I'm getting a bit addicted.
Money wise everything is OK although we are definitely spending more on food. Due partially to online shopping, no YS bargains because I'm not going to the supermarkets and using the local shops instead. But I can live with that. I have some gifts bought already but I don't have a lot of people to buy for and that time of year isn't so expensive for us anyway as it's just Himself and me.
Just a hair appointment this month (a bit apprehensive about that one) and then we're off on holiday. Keeping up with friends and family by email, text and phone mostly. I'm hoping that the holiday will make me a bit more confident about going out again. I think I could really do with an eye test but I'll leave that till next month. I don't know if it's common in people who have been isolating but I think I'm going to have to ease into going out gradually.
Loads of clutter to get rid of. Sneaking some out as and when Himself isn't looking.
I shall try hard to embrace the challenge.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.6
