You willfully undermine many threads and this is just another example. In what way does that help the OP, it just does not.Mercdriver said:
But greenmotion have been in business for years. According to your methodology, that makes them jolly nice fellows to do business with. After all, they are profitable.sweetsand said:Dear OP
I will cut through the chase, you have to pay up, no ifs, no buts, they will make you pay. Lear from it. Sounds harsh but it's a fair comment and hopefully others will read about your plight and steer clear.
honestly, I do feel for you.

Thanks for the advice. Obviously they and all the car hire companies are sick of customers who trash in the car and crash it and try not to pay, saying it was not them. The thing is I am sure from my experience and the countless threads of people feeling they have been ripped off point to one thing: They are looking to profit from misfortune. Surely all the people complaining are not bang to rights otherwise whats the point of writing. The BBC has caught them doing this and it looks like they still are.1

You could always find out via facebook or other social media if anyone else has hired this car before. My in-laws have been caught out for a similar trick where the hirers go straight to something before looking.daniel1971_2 said:Thanks for the advice. My daughter bought a new phone with a great camera. The last time we hired a car I told her to take hundreds of photos at pick up and return. When I went to return it I stopped in the bay. I was getting the paperwork together while my daughter was taking photos from every angle. The car hire man arrived and she was there click click click. He just ticked the 'no damage' box without looking at the car. I checked with him that he was happy with the condition and he said it was fine. I wondered if my daughter taking loads of photos put them off making spurious claims.1

Just what we advoacte. When we got a courtsey car from a high end dealer they walked us around in a few sec we said hold on and took a video of about a minute and close of of a few light scratches and in fairness to their rep they also pointed them out. On ret the almost new car, they came out we got ours and a 5 sec walk round having asked us if everthing was as it should be they signed the papers saying car returned with the half tank and as went out - we at that did not take a video - it is possible that what seems cheap intially to hire works out more expensive - if we were to hire a car/van we alwys go to a very large, respected co.fred246 said:My daughter bought a new phone with a great camera. Very large companies aren't always respectable, and often in some locations they are franchises, so not operated by the big company.0
-
British Gas and Everest are both large companies. They’re not respectable.0

The aforementioned Goldcar are large and they're not respectable...some sort of pattern emerging here0

Doc, not everyone is going to be happy with every company but some are better than others and I'm sure you can't deny that.Dr_Crypto said:British Gas and Everest are both large companies. They’re not respectable.
For us, we have been with BG for ever since I can recall, we have our heating via them and a service plan - we nneded them a couple of times over a 15 odd year, 10/10. Everest, no cheap by any standards but nor are their goods and the and they too get a 10/10.0
