I do wonder how many other people roud here are in the same position as I live in an area with a high number of elderly people. As up to now I can get no information I don't see a letter would have helped. I foolishly assumed the pharmacy would do as they said and let me know when they had the vaccine so I can only assume that in the last five weeks they have not had any. If I had been late booking I could understand the problem but as I booked at the beginning of September they must have known how many doses they would need. I just don't get it.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

ladyholly said:I know they have closed booking but my point remains the vaccinations were booked at the beginning of Sept and at the time of booking, when we went for vaccinations or in the communications I have had since have they said there is no vaccine left in fact I one email last week I was told to keep checking at the pharmacy. This to me is a strange way of running things. Surely someone somewhere knows what there is/will be available. If I had run my business in such a way would have gone broke. Incidentally according to doh there is no shortage of vaccine.
The manufacturer doesn't have enough for everybody so can only send out what he gets. He rations what he sends or sends to some and not others.
The chemist probably took bookings in anticipation of getting the vaccine and didn't get as many as he ordered so couldn't fulfil all the bookings. He may have used up what he did get before he got to you on the booking list.
The orders are submitted in advance to be delivered at scheduled times. The chemist can only store so many. He then has to wait until his next scheduled delivery and hope that he gets it .
Well Pharmacy, the third largest chain after Boots UK and LloydsPharmacy, said during the first week of their flu jab service there had been a 68% increase in uptake compared with the same week last year.
LloydsPharmacy has now had to pause online bookings owing to unprecedented demand. “In the first week of flu season we have already vaccinated 10 times more people compared to last year,”
My GP only got his first supply the first week in October.0 -
I understand that but the only info I am getting is they have closed on line booking. I shouldn't need a booking I have had on for two months now and according to the pharmacy they have had no supply in that time. Why don't they just isue people with raffle tickets and if your number comes up you can have a vaccination because at the moment that what it feels like. Still will see if I can get through to gp tomorrow. Took 2hours of dialling ang redialling last time I had to ring them.0
