Where I live I am roughly equal distance from 2 Sainsburys in opposite directions, each has its own plus and minus traffic wise, we ended up going to the one next to the designer village, came out with a jar of nigella seeds 90p, can`t be bothered to add to my sig yet, no flora cuisine, which is what I wanted to get, will have to look at Amazon pantry, prices seemed so much more than my local Aldi, less than a mile away,or Lidl next to Morries, went into the designer village as neighbour required cookware, the best shop selling said items has closed down, we agreed never to venture there again, always disappointing.Do I need it or just want it.6

£75 spent at the market today, on meat, eggs (only 1 Girl in lay at present) cheese, ham, olives, fruit & veg. (No fish; he's on holiday, but we'll cope for a week, there's some in the freezer.) Not to mention a vast amount at the wholesaler's on pre- & post-wedding supplies, but that really is a different budget, and I suspect we'll still be drinking some of it at Christmas! I'm clearing the house out like mad ready for the invasion, but food & drink supplies are gobbling up any space I manage to make. We're hosting an outdoor socially-distanced hen night here tomorrow & I gather my day will be gobbled up baking amuse-bouches of one sort or another. Hey ho, onwards & upwards!Angie - GC Jul 25: £225.85/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)5

I am now back in lockdown because op is due in two weeks, the hospital said three days but I feel safer doing 2 weeks.
DH went shopping this morning and spent £37.57 at Aldi that included chicken breasts, a gammon joint and sausages, didn't need a great deal for the up and coming week the freezer is taking its own sweet time to run down eek. So far this month shopping has cost £45.60 He bought 8 large chicken breasts for £7.99 which has been turned into 6 meals for the three of us for when I am laid up, 2 sweet and sour chicken, another sesame and ginger chicken, 2 chicken stews and a chicken in mushroom sauce.
I made gnocchi last night and we had it with a cheesy bacon sauce, we all enjoyed it and it is so easy to make and really cheap. I made extra gnocchi and that is in the freezer as well, hubby just has to add a pasta bake sauce and there is another meal.
Found a whole yellow sticker garlic chicken in the bottom of the freezer so we are having that tonight with HM wedges and salad. It will be turned into a stew for tomorrow night, it is definitely getting cooler at night.
The big meat shop is next week so I expect it will be quite high, but I am preparing two months of meals so October will be a really low budget, which is good because the car insurance is dueBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Not Buying it 2015!6 -
Had to do a top up shop for milk, carrots, radishes and cranberry juice today and snaffled some y/s wild rocket so that little lot came to £5.53 which brings me to £39.03/£200 so far.
The good news is that I managed to use up/declutter a packet of mixed lentils and beans, a packet of wholemeal pittas, the last dregs of the balsamic vinegar, dark soy sauce, marmite and the dijon mustard making today's slow cooker dish which was helpful. I'm now eyeing the other part used jars and bottles and consulting the recipe index for inspiration.
Night all and sweet dreams, goldfinches.6 -
So plus one goes on an unauthorised spending spree to buy some biscuits and left them in the shop! Now £2 down and nothing to show for it.

Hello Everyone
I would like to join in for September please, hope it's not too late as I've already done some shopping!. Calendar month 1-30 September. £90 please @e@elsiepac.
This is for me and includes toiletries, cleaning and any bulk buys. Pet is on a separate budget as am using a spreadsheet to try and find out what I'm spending on him.
Did a big shop on 1 September £44.75 including the £5 off at Lid*, £10.75 at Ald* yesterday, top up of fruit and veg, bleach and toiletries. Should just be weekly top up shops for the rest of month as cupboards and freezer are well stocked.
£55.50 spent so far, £34.50 for rest of September.

Hi everyone
Just had one shop this month but it was over my weekly amount of £30 but most of what I bought will do this week and next with only a small top shop needed, luckily I don't need any non food items this month as I have plenty in, so I spent £55.11 that leaves me with £4.89 until a week on Wednesday!! eek!! but I should be ok as I have plenty in, so it will just be fresh fruit and milk and I have some frozen of each! so I will have to be extra careful, okey dokey off to make a garden cottage pie for todays tea, which should do tomorrow as well.

First shop of the month yesterday. Aldi, farmfoods and the veg shop. £67 in total. Probably didn't need the veg shop but had some boxes to take back. The fruit and veg they sell in £1 boxes, the boxes are returned and reused. Bought a box of broccoli, 1.5kg for £1, also five boxes each containing for large punnets of strawberries for £1 each and some sweets for OH. Stocked up on toilet rolls and nappies. All visitors now gone home. Two more arrive Monday and three on 27th. Lots of tomatoes and still some runner beans still. Many huge butternut squash still to come. Hope everyone is well, mumtoomany.Frugal Living Challenge 2025.4

Sent my eldest out for groceries yesterday. She left my purse on the bench in the hall.
She did come back with the shopping on the list though, which came to "about a fiver" so another £5 spent takes me to £35/£200. I do like the nice even numbers though!
