Green Network Energy are trying to scam me?
Just switched to Green Network Energy Company and they scammed me already. When I entered or initial readings in the website I accidentally entered the gas reading into the identical electric box, realised straight away, but no way to edit, so I entered the correct reading and emailed explaining.
Few weeks later I noticed they have added an "estimated" reading to include a whooping 200 extra units that I've already paid or previous supplier British Gas for.
Raised the query and despite them acknowledging it was a simply mistake with the gas reading and that they received the correct reading 5 seconds later, they say it's industry standard to generate an estimate.
My point is it was a simple mistake, that was rectified in 5 seconds flat and I'm being organised by paying for an extra 199 units that I've already paid for. Don't really want to involve ombudsman but they don't appear to want to budge.
Any ideas how much 199 units are going to scam me for?
Anyone else ever had this scam?

It's not Green Energy's fault, it's the mysterious third party's algorithm that dreams up a reading that they prefer.0

Why does everything have to be a "scam"? Woe betide its a human or computer error, or a mistake.
Simply send them your final British Gas bill showing you have already paid for the 199 units and it will be sorted in time.3 -
It's not a scam.
It won't actually cost you anything in the long term - it will balance out by the winter.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill1 -
Is the putting of the gas reading in an electricity box an irrelevance? Or am I the only one who can't understand the OP?0

I typed my gas reading into the form/box that is for the electric reading by accident, then quickly added the correct readingTalldave said:Is the putting of the gas reading in an electricity box an irrelevance? Green Network Energy have already acknowledge that my meter reading was correct, but still maintain their position of charging me an estimated reading which includes 199 units less, which are units I have already paid my previous supplier (British gas) for. They are not interested in evidence. The whole situation is bizarre and it looks like the ombudsman will have to tell them they can't do that!bradders1983 said:Why does everything have to be a "scam"? Have you tried to phone them and speak to someone? I believe at the end of the day it may be swings and roundabouts, you should start with the end reading of your previous suppler. Have you received your final bill yet? If not just wait. Hopefully it will be okay in the end.0

I've already spoken to customer service rep who recited everything that happened without any prompting from me, and asked me to send my photo as evidence,a she raised the complaint for me. I sent in my photo as evidence and the response from the complaint is that are still maintaining their preposterous position/scam. I have since found out final bill from British Gas which shows we actually paid for even more units than my reading shows. Would you know approximately how much 200 units of electricity costs?Hammer_Time said:Have you tried to phone them and speak to someone?
