This appears to be their only guidance on extensions...

That was all I could find too. We had a walk around the area today and there are a fair few side extensions on similar type houses as the one we are pursuing, but we couldn’t find anything about them on planning website at all.DevilDamo said:This appears to be their only guidance on extensions...

I had a second viewing today and measured the width of the side driveway, wall to boundary is 11ft exactly. So my preference would be with a 2 storey extension to have the upstairs 1st floor full width otherwise the room will have an inside width of 6ft 5inches which I don’t think is that much gain for the price and effort, and not hugely suitable as a bedroom. An extra metre up there would be great. Also I have seen today that the house next door has been put up for sale! It hasn’t got an extension, and is on for less so whoever goes for that will v likely be extending it...0

For £75K less... With that sort of price difference, I'd be reconsidering my options.Parties03 said: Also I have seen today that the house next door has been put up for sale! It hasn’t got an extension, and is on for less so whoever goes for that will v likely be extending it...
Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

Ughhh i know! I’ll be honest though, it’s clearly been priced competitively to get interest, and it needs a lot of cosmetic work to make it liveable. We couldn’t move in straight away due to that and I have a 1yo and I’m pregnant due December so it would be a bit of a mare. I think it’ll sell for at least 400 tbh. Also it has no extension on the back, house is as is.For £75K less... With that sort of price difference, I'd be reconsidering my options.Realistically, the one we have pursued we can live in as is for many years with no changes, it’s just not to my taste. Also the cheaper one is next to a bungalow with bedrooms facing the side Id be planning to extend on, I imagine that would be very hard to justify. Whereas the one we are buying the side is facing no windows. What a spanner in the works though!1

I've just dipped into Rightmove and I must say that I'm astounded by the prices in the Norwich suburbs. Yes its a city, but its also in the middle of nowhere. for that money I'd consider moving to greater London. No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.0

Could be used to negotiate a lower price though..Parties03 said: What a spanner in the works though!

So I used to think this too, I moved here from up north 7 years ago. But it’s a beautiful, vibrant city. It has a really arty cool vibe, loads of independent shops and eateries, beautiful countryside and the coasts are really varied and of course the broads. Also fantastic schools if you’re looking at starting families. All that, and it’s 2 hours to London in whichever way you decide to get there. I think the prices are surprising too, but having lived here so long now I wish I grew up here myself!Rosa_Damascena said:I've just dipped into Rightmove and I must say that I'm astounded by the prices in the Norwich suburbs. I don’t even know how I would do that, what angle I’d come at it from. I guess I’d need to find out what that goes for first but what grounds would I have to change my offer?0

Not yet! So that will hopefully work in our favour then as it’s objective and would be the same case for anyone who was buying the property.FreeBear said:Have you had a survey done yet ?If not, the surveyor is bound to look at the asking price of next door and adjust his valuation accordingly.
