So that is both my cards replaced but MrsM has had nothing re hers.  I have regularly used my old cards in real shops, only Tesco, but the last time MrsM used hers in a real shop was probably over a year ago but has used it on line to pay PB & HL for the points.
Some issuers will not re-issue unused cards at renewal stage.
I've never used mine and they were replaced.

I imagine Tesco are just doing a staged migration from MasterCard to Visa

Has anyone successfully used their new card? Just tried to use mine online, and even though it recognised the details and sent a OTP to my phone, the transaction was declined twice. Tried again with my old card and it went through first time.
I made a deposit into my Vanguard account, which went in fine

Why would they migrate from Visa debit to Visa debit?
  • What about this new card makes it "more secure"?
Why have we only received a replacement for one of the four debit cards in the family?
The card being replaced was only sent last year and still had 2 years left. It is Visa just like before.
All this and an email to verify Clubcard personal details. Has there been a security breach somewhere?

Wonder if it's just one type of card - iirc didn't they used to say if the 7th digit on your card was a number 5; then it's a basic card (ie restricted online variant)? Is it just these being replaced? Or the others that don't have a number 5 there?

quoted "You will know if you have the type of card that needs authorised as the seventh digit of the long card number across the middle of your card will be a 5)."

Anyone got both types that can confirm?
  • Anyone else noticed that new Tesco debit card colour scheme is exactly the same as Metro debit cards?
