Tesco bank current account debit card

I had a text today from TB saying a new debit card was being sent to me. I'm just wondering if any other TB current account holders on here have been told the same thing? I rang them and was told that they are sending out new 'updated' debit cards. I wanted to check with them as it seemed strange they were sending me a new one when my current one doesn't expire for quite a while. I asked but she wasn't really clear in what way they were 'updated', I assumed it must be something fairly important for them to send them out to many (all?) customers?

I had a text yesterday for one that runs out in October, nothing for the other account though.

Nothing for me yet, two accounts, four cards.I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.1

It’s normally due to updated features in the card.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own1

I have two Tesco Bank accounts.
I received a text message on Friday (14th August) letting me know a new debit card for one of them was on its way.
I didn't think anything about it until the card arrived and I noticed my old one doesn't expire until 12/20.
New card is similar to their credit cad, but is Visa instead of Mastercard and displays 'Debit card.' at the top right.

Neither me either my credit or debit cards look anything like that.I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.0

One card replaced early. One not.EDIT - just checked, the replaced one was actually late! Don't use the accounts so I didn't realise.New card is exactly the same as the previous one.0

Who knows and it will never tell us but perhaps the reason for replacing these cards early is because it thinks it has another potential security breach issue with its debit cards like it had en masse a few years ago.0
