But it's already been tested in 3 courts and thrown out on each occasionjag_run said:Thanks @Redx / @Umkomaas - I wasn't very clear in what I meant. I am aware that from a legal standpoint the 'ridiculous charge' aspect is no longer a consideration. What I mean was if to fight the PCN as the morally right thing to do. If the charge was somewhat more realistic, for example maybe £20-£30 area then it would seem fairer given the supposed offence. It is clear money grabbing at the current rate, and there is no real justification in my mind for a the discount/increase either in such a short amount of time.
I'm going to go there and check out the signage and take it from there. Thanks
You are banging your head against a brick wall and will fail , the claimant will just say "Beavis case your honour" and the judge will say , move along2 -
No , I don't misunderstand you at all , I am saying that your argument failed with the Beavis case , end of story !!!
I can see I am wasting my time though , so I won't be replying any further1 -
have you said where the retail park is ?it may may have previous .......Ralph

Apologies if I have upset you, but I am not making the argument that the charge is unreasonable/excessive. From my side atleast we seem to be in agreement on that point, so I am really confused.Redx said:No , I don't misunderstand you at all , I am saying that your argument failed with the Beavis case , end of story !!!

As I have seen from other threads etc, you clearly are knowledgeable and helpful in this area so I don't want to have unintentionally burnt that bridge.
The charge simply refers to it as 'Chatham Maritime'... which is actually a general area (like a part of town) which extends several miles along the riverfront. The road or postcode is not specified on the notice.Ralph-y said:have you said where the retail park is ?it may may have previous .......Ralph

I'm too new to post links, but if you were to add Google .co.uk to the front of the above...
There are two carparks which would locally be known as 'Chatham Dockside Outlet' (which is the big one near Odeon). There is then the smaller one by the pub ('Ship & Trades carpark') where the ticket is for. Both covered by UKCPM, I'm not 100% sure though if both owned by the same company.1 -
Do forum searches for the above info to see if anything comes up.Which one where you scammed in ?you need to find who owns / manages it and complain.Ralph
