My apologies, meantphotome said:
Not sure what you mean by Scalls or what it has to do with the OPs car.sweetsand said:
I was not referring to you as you did not make those comments.photome said:
Maybe not, but it was the OP who brought gender in to the conversationsweetsand said:
I don't understand why you made a sexist comment? There is no need for that kind of thing as it does not help the OP that is seeking help, nor does it help this site with those type of very dated comments.DoaM said:

I don't understand why that is a problem for a grown adult? I've never had a problem with going for a walk for a few hours while waiting for things in the past. Yes it may be a bit annoying if it's raining but she can wear waterproofs, no matter where the industrial estate is there will be somewhere she can walk around or do something to take up a few hours.scottiescott said:
Well, first of all what is she suppised to do? Wander about an industrial estate for an hour or two while they replace it? And I only asked if anybody else had a similar experience.Mercdriver said:
And? That's where I would expect them to be based. Why have you not asked them why there is an exception to the norm rather than simply complaining here where we are unlikely to know?scottiescott said:It's in the middle of an industrial estate!
your comments re sensors, etc, it could be possibly down to that though I'm not 100% sure I think our
cars have them build into the, bheind the grill like a mini cctv. The screen on the Scalls has the lights sensor not too much in the way of calibrating those I guess.
IMO and as ststed before the OP needs to ask insurance others he can use.
there are cars that need recalibrating after new screens and some of those can only be done in the depot

I'm sure you are right re some cars about calibrations after new screens as cars are more complex than most light aircraft.

Jesus Christ, I can't believe how much sarcasm, crticism and unhelpful comments one simple question can provoke. I only wanted to know if windscreen replacement companies had stopped coming to your home/premises and if so if it was anything connected to Covid.
Thank you to those who tried to answer the question.0 -
Have you had an answer from Autoglass themselves? You assume it will be about profitability but perhaps they are down on numbers because of furloughing and members of staff shielding due to COVID. Most industrial estates have a cafe in them somewhere where your partner will be able to get a cuppa or something to eat while she waits.scottiescott said:Jesus Christ, I can't believe how much sarcasm, crticism and unhelpful comments one simple question can provoke. Very few industrial estates are completely isolated, and as said most will have something resembling a cafe or burger van.
If it's particularly far out of the way it may be worth trying to get a friend/family member to pick you up and take you back later but it may not take long to fit or calibrate.

I didn't ... I was actually making an anti-sexism comment in the form of sarcasm - the OP was the one being sexist.sweetsand said:
