Given that we are blessed with supermarket delivery services, many restaurant delivery options on take aways and even the likes of deliveroo will go to the local small minimarket. In more rural areas there are probably taxi services that will deliver at least take aways, I imagine most people would struggle to say they honestly needed to shop for themselves.peachyprice said:

The bit you are not understanding is that the half-assed 'quarantine' we have in the UK, it is not the same as quarantine, there are not enough resources to even begin to check that the majority of people are adhering to the rules.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I still can't get a delivery slot here, from any of the supermarkets and I am out of a Deliveroo area so I can honestly say that yes, I would have to go shopping for myself, which is allowed regardless of whether you agree or not.silvercar said:

Okay, he has to travel direct form airport to the house. -no stopping off anywhere en route. Similarly, when he returns he needs to travel direct to the airport with no stopping off en route.
Private transport is preferred but if public transport must be used a face mask must be worn and social distancing must be observed.
Assuming the house is empty and he will be alone he will need to organise food/drink for his time here.
He cannot visit colleagues/offices etc and they cannot visit him , so how does he intend to obtain documents and sign them.
can they not be sent to Spain for signature and sent back?

I wonder what kind of office has never heard of a FAX machine.

The reality is that quarantine is a lottery with a seemingly damn good chance of winning some cheap travel.
Reports from plenty of people suggest that the form checking is sketchy and any follow up checks are practically non-existent or merely consist of someone calling to remind you of your obligation.
I have personal experience of travelling to Bristol airport from Italy and there were staff checking forms on arrival which meant there ended up being an arrivals area which was ludicrously overcrowded. However, for those who hadn't pre-filled the form the online option was a website link so you could fill it in before heading through passport control. Those who told the staff they hadn't got means of accessing the link were not offered another option and were asked to proceed and fill it in as soon as they got home.0 -

We came back through Heathrow on Sunday, not one person was asked for their forms or for their QR code to be scanned, it was a complete farce.cubegame said:The reality is that quarantine is a lottery with a seemingly damn good chance of winning some cheap travel.
