It is very expensive to maintain even if it does not break down as i said earlier the brake pads are close to 600 quid if I recall rightly

Where do people get this rubbish from?  Brembo pads from Euro Car Parts are currently £75.89 with their usual discount.

I'm not sure I even believe this thread is genuine.
That is SUCH a British comment.
It would look much more believable if the OP returned with the custard test and maybe an MX5 in the background

I am also doubtful about the OPs story
I disagree with you and others that have said the same.
I've written a book on facts are stranger than fiction and they are. Alternatively and I apologise to the OP if I've misread what others have been saying about you here that your story is true and that you are one of the many people I've seen from a distance that are dysfucntional with money and dreamers, hence your purchase of a car that you clearly can't afford.

many people dont believe the OP, you do, but think they are dysfunctional  :o

    £138.

But that's for one without the optional ceramic brakes.
With ceramics, they're the thick end of £500 off the 'bay.

What about the Yaris?  That had brake issues too.  The RX8 really had issues.  It never seemed to appear in photos...

I am sure if you found all the brake pipes had broken off the calipers you would want your loved one to drive it straight away back to the garage.
In the morning, very slowly, with the hazards on, why not? We also don't know how far away the garage was, it could have been a few hundred yards away.

What hasn't been commented on that I have noticed is that the car 'was delivered'.  If it had just passed an MOT it seems that the break pipes were functional before delivery but not after.  So son rejects car and hopefully leaves dealer chasing deliverer's insurance.
The overarching lesson here seems to be the need for caution when something seems too good to be true.

Delivered makes me suspect it was bought without seeing, and may not have even been driven there because the dealer knew it was dangerous. Or the delivery driver has done something horrible to it, but that'll be impossible to prove as presumably the son accepted the car after delivery.

It's far fetched but not impossible when a naive young man buys a supercar sight unseen for a price that's too good to be true.
  • As above who on earth buys a 10 yr old car without a test drive.......only going to end up one way

Buying cars without test drives seems hugely common these days.
