What hasn't been commented on that I have noticed is that the car 'was delivered'.  If it had just passed an MOT it seems that the break pipes were functional before delivery but not after.  So son rejects car and hopefully leaves dealer chasing deliverer's insurance.
The overarching lesson here seems to be the need for caution when something seems too good to be true.

I'm not sure I even believe this thread is genuine.
That is SUCH a British comment.

I am also doubtful about the OPs story
I disagree with you and others that have said the same.
I've written a book on facts are stranger than fiction and they are. Alternatively and I apologise to the OP if I've misread what others have been saying about you here that your story is true and that you are one of the many people I've seen from a distance that are dysfucntional with money and dreamers, hence your purchase of a car that you clearly can't afford.

I read a book once, green it was! (Funny how OP hasn't been back to update isn't it)

I seem to remember you saying the same about another posters tale. What happened to that thread?
