There's always stuff in the VIP sale that turns up weeks later and always stuff that they don't even tell you isn't going to turn up until you see it credited on your next statement and know you never received it or sent it back!!

I tend to get lots of different parcels so only ever put one invoice back in each return parcel (but add items onto the bottom like the other poster said). I have also had huge problems with items not being in the parcel, returns not received and substitute items coming out (this year I had a boxed pair of black work high heels - right label/size, with some sparkly silver ballet pumps inside...YUK!). I always stick to my guns with customer services, admitedly we never argue about it...it just takes time to get the refund. Plus I keep a big long list of what I've ordered, what I've received and what I've sent back and tick it all off of my next statements over the next few months (learnt that from the first VIP sale when I didn't and i'm sure I ended up paying for stuff I didn't get).

I'm hoping lots of people are taking returns back, as I'm actually after some of the maternity clothes, and it seems that every sale, people mistakenly buy them as it's not always clear from the picture. So to read that some of you will be returning maternity stuff cheers me up - thank you!

I did this...Next really needs to sort out their labelling!! (I e-mailed them a complaint to the same effect)

  • I've received goods that I did not order (happens EVERY Next sale). Customer Services apologise but it's so annoying as the stuff I ordered originally is now out of stock.
  • "A couple of the items I ordered were on a 1-2 week delay as well. I haven't received any of them yet, but it is very early days still."

1-2 wait just seems to be a general term they use. every sale, i have had about half my order on a 1-2 week but it has arrived in dribs and drabs over the next few months and then in the end i get a letter saying they are very sorry but cannot get the remaining items - so annoying that they couldnt say it was out of stock in the 1st place or y cant they send a replacement.

and on the note of having missing items - i had a pair of socks missing and was interrogated for it! needed to give my number and asked all sort questions like was the parcel damaged etc.. and like others i had a £1000 order, y would i need to make up for a £7 socks!which are now out of stock!
  • i popped into next in the centre of town the other day, first day of the sale. couldnt believe it! people snapping things up like they were the cheapest things they had ever seen, BUT they were less than half that price already in the clearance store! im totally hooked on the clearance stores, regularly getting jumpers worth £20 for £1, and jeans down from £35 to £5. Why on earth are people so excited about the store sales when the bargains are there constantly, if you bother to shop about a bit!

Not everyone lives near to a Next clearance store to snap up these bargains.

I live near a next clearance store but i find it very hit or miss whether there is anything at all worth buying... often it is very small sizes in womenswear and kids items.

I went in two days after the sale this time and it was brimming with things but they seemed to be the wrong season (summer) as well as i couldnt find any 3yr old girl clothes :( seems to be missing in my local..

not sure if the real sale stuff came in to the clearance after id been though??

I agree. Instead of blocking us genuine shoppers from their VIP sale they should stop the multi buying of the ebay seller.

Problem is, there is no way Next can determine who is buying to resell & who is buying for themselves/friends/family etc. But tbh, I dont think Next really care what people buy theystuff for, as long as they get thier money & make thier profit

I keep having a look to see if return items are showing as yet but there doesnt seem to be any increase... there are loads of sizes showing and when you add them to bag they are out of stock :(

Check over the next few days. I have loads of returns but the 'returns' option on 'my account' didn't appear until yesterday ( Saturday ). Earliest date I could get was tomorrow.

Not sure if they removed the returns option for a few days as couriers would have been mega busy with deliveries.

I have picked up loads of bargains in the past weeks after the sale started - try to log in as early as possible ( think site opens at 6.00am )

My courier sticks her phone number on the parcels (which I know off by heart anyway LOL), so I can just call her up to request a return - far far better than going centrally as I can arrange a day and time with her personally.

I used to think the next clearance stores were great, but everytime I go to one now, they are full of the really rubbish Lime stuff or the "made specially for the sale" stuff both of which are cheap, substandard material, stitching, fit....i.e. all the things that you don't want from Next clothes.
