So that's Santander, NatWest & 1st direct all swapping to MasterCard. Urgh. Really wish they'd left it as it was. That new 1st direct card, much like the new logo, is awful. 🤮0

I think this is a hideous card design and looks really cheap and nasty. They could have made it a portrait card which would have looked a bit better and put the Monochrome MasterCard logo on it like the one I have on my Curve Metal card.Hazzanet said:
They went with the colour MasterCard logo.

I don't think the arrow helps either. People have managed for decades without an arrow on their card. Why does FD think people need one now?dr_adidas01 said:

I’m guessing they think people will put their card in terminals the wrong way hence the arrow.Lightning360 said:

(1) Card number, valid from, valid to, CVV, sort code, account number contactless symbol and MC Debit hologram on the back.jbrassy said:A couple of questions:
1 - are they now printing the account details and card number on the back of the card?
2 - are they going to send everyone new Mastercard debit cards soon? I only received my new FD Visa debit card in December and it doesn't expire for another 5 years. Will I get a Mastercard before then, or will I only get it when my Visa expires?
(2) No idea, I'm afraid; this was an account opened last week and the debit card came yesterday.43580 -
New account opened last week so it could be that they are using MCs on the new accounts and that the conversion from existing Visa cards to MC will take place in stages?stclair said:
Did your old card expire in 2021? I’m surprised they haven’t made them portrait.Hazzanet said:

Thanks. There's a lot of hate for the new design. I personally think it looks cool.0
